Well... 50+ shots to under 20... and it's a 2-1 OT win.

Well, he's been pretty damn good, but I don't think Detroit is getting enough "dirty" shots on him. With Franzen and Holmstrom, that's inexcusable, IMO.

Wouldn't you know, today's game is one that I can actually watch and I'm going to a museum with a fellow Road Warrior.....

But the Hockey Gods have not deserted me. The Pharmacy Tech trainer is also from Michigan and will be calling me during the game to tell me the score.

Signing off from Horseheads, NY.

Awwww yeeeh.

Ozzy with another solid effort, holding the fort for the first 10 minutes and then making the stops for his 11th career shutout.

Ellis played great again, but you won't get too many wins when your team doesn't score a goal in front of you. Hard to fault him on Lidstrom's long bomb, the thing took a huge hop about 10 feet out from him and went top shelf.

Arnott was out with a concussion, probably from when Radulov piled on him after the OT winner in game 3.

Hudler gets his 2nd and 5th point of the series on a long one-timer from a Darren Helm pass with McCarty going to the net. H's tied with Datsyuk and Kronwall for the most points in the first series with 5. Kronwall had another big open-ice hit, this time on Nichol. He actuall had to let up so that Nichol would touch the puck before he hit him. That's at least one big one in every game this series.

Hats off to the loud and lively Nashville crowd for the three home games. They showed great support for the team and the cheering at the conclusion of the series was great. Poile and Trotz get huge credit for the job that they've done this year while dealing with the ownership shit and the mandate to Poile to massively cut the payroll at the end of last season.

Whew.... Well, I'm glad that's over with. The Red Wings can usually be counted on to go pretty deep into the playoffs when they manage to get past the 1st Round series.

Solid 3rd period (only one I saw, unfortunately) from the Wings. Nashville didn't appear to threaten at all. Osgood made some key saves when he needed them.

Should be a great tilt against the Avs.

Get Lilja the fuck off your team.

Done and Done. He's played 5 games in the playoffs, wasn't seeing a lot of ice time, and doesn't look like he's going to get back into the lineup until Chelios or someone gets hurt(crossing fingers). I can't see him getting a contract unless the team decides not to bring Chelly back or he reduces his asking price by a bunch.

2 goals within 32 seconds. Fucking hell Babcock. Get that shit sorted out. That's happened in 3 out of the 4 games. Something needs to fucking change.

Like Av said, Hasek has to be better on the long shots. Sitting on the fucking goal line and spreading your legs is nice, but a shot a foot off of the ice is going to go in. Cut down the angles and try to see the shots instead of going down ad praying it hits your pads.

Ozzy and Helm in, Hasek and Hartigan out, grinders play more, and Sask's request for more dirty goals met. All that equals 9 straight wins. Excellent work Babbles. Keep it up boys.
