Props to my favorite Stars website for this info- will link to it later when I won't be accused of spamming. Smile

About the Stars
The Stars defeated Phoenix 5-3 Saturday night in Glendale, Arizona for their third win in their last four games. Mike Ribeiro (one goal, two assists) and Brenden Morrow (three assists) had three point nights and Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen each had a goal and an assist. "Our players that we depend on to score all chipped in tonight," Stars coach Dave Tippett said. "It was a much-needed two points. We wanted to carry a game right through, and tonight I thought we did a lot of smart things."

Injuries: No major injuries

About the Sharks
The Sharks lost their second straight game, falling 2-1 in Columbus Saturday evening. That followed a 5-1 loss in Detroit on Friday. "A better effort, but the same result," San Jose goaltender Evgeni Nabokov said. "It's only good if you get the win. Last night was not good, and tonight, maybe a better effort, but again, the same result - a loss, which is not good." Joe Thornton scored the lone goal for the Sharks, who are now 5-5-1 on the season.
Injuries: RW Mike Grier (groin) is day-to-day. LW Ryan Clowe (knee), D Rob Davison (finger), D Brad Norton (back) and C Tomas Plihal (shoulder) are out.

Season Series
This is the first of eight meetings between the two teams.
The Stars were 5-3-0 against San Jose last season.
The Sharks were 3-4-1 against the Stars last season.

Statistical tidbits
* Jere Lehtinen is on a three-game goal scoring streak for the Stars.
* Stars center Mike Ribeiro (2 goals, six assists) and left wing Brenden * *Morrow (three goals, four assists) are both on five-game points streaks.
* The Sharks have scored two goals or fewer in seven of their first 11 games.
* San Jose has killed 22 of 23 opposition power plays over the last four games.
* The Sharks have been outscored 19-12 during five-on-five play.

GO STARS!!

Post the link with strategic spaces (use w w w and put spaces after each dot), and I or another mod will fix it up for you.

GOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUCCCCHHHHHH!

Looked like there were about three times tha Modano had tied Phil Housley's record for most points by an American born player in the NHL, but Nabby was really strong.

I couldn't watch the game since it was on Vs., but I can only feel the pain from reading about it. We apparently had it locked going into the 3rd and a first game rookie put two in the basket within a span of two minutes and the Stars commenced to crapping the bed. Good times.
