Torre turns down 1 year, $5 million offer from the Yanks.

Anyone hear Manny's comments earlier today? He says that theres always next year to win the world series...wow talk about a guy who has lost faith in his team. |

That's a paycut, what a disrespectful move from the Steinbrenners.
As for Manny, he's cool as a cucumber, and I'd prefer that then Alex "if we don't win I might cry like a baby and fear the rapture" Rodriguez.
Besides, he knows the Sox are screwed no matter what. Did you see him raise his hands in triumph after his HR in the last game? Of course it meant they were still losing by 4. _________________ Beat my drum down in Mexico! To Tijuana, Tijuana here we go!

Manny's a dipshit but hey but Sox nation would readily put up with his B.S. for another 10 years since he was a big part of ending the Curse of the Bambino.
The offer from the Yanks was a bullshit offer and everyone knows it. Now the boss(es) can come back and say "hey we didn't fire him, he quit." Whatever, Torre is wise to jump ship now, that roster is a big fat overpaid mess. |

Well I've figured it out
I switched back from Mich Light to Coors Light
that blue can really seals in the Rocky Mountain freshness
and the Sox will need that if they intend to make it to the Rockies
Even Tim " I can't believe they are paying me for this" McCarver is on the
Jacoby Ellsbury bandwagon, pointing out Coco Crisps struggles |

What Man-ram said was "we gonna go out, and try hard, and compete, but you know... if we don't win.... hehe... who CAAAAAAAARES... there's always next year, it's not the end of the world"....
that is just as consistent with a savvy vet calming down the hysterical fans in Boston as it is someone saying I give up. Dude was hitting well over .400 for the playoffs, and his last HR still hasn't landed.
That said, his mental gaffe tonight wouldn't have helped matters had they lost... |

Torre said that despite the fact that the years with the Yanks were the best of his life, he says that the one year contract is an insult.
I heard McCowan and Brunt(or Kelley) on Prime Time Sports saying that Torre brought a tremendous amount of class and dignity to the Yanks when the organization was a goofy mess and survived George and his antics and a bunch of different GMs. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Lousy Indians. I hope the Rox demolish those unshaven bums.

So you were 37% accurate with your regular season prediction
and 0% accurate for your postseason predictions....
Are you sure those "awesome" predictions were worth resurrecting? _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

Thanks, Hipcheck for being a fact-distorter like Michael Moore and killing my buzz. The way I see it, I predicted 6 of the 8 playoff teams, and Milwaukee and San Diego were still in it on the final weekend.
The Indians choked away a glorious chance, so I really have nothing to say beyond that.
A day late and a dollar short, perhaps, but I raped everyone in the Yahoo H2H league this year, and I think my handle on MLB trends is perhaps superior to anyone in the Pirates or Reds organizations. _________________ Beat my drum down in Mexico! To Tijuana, Tijuana here we go!

If the Rockies win the World Series, the city of Denver better be sending Vancouver a big-ass thank-you card. First Sakic, now Francis? (Walker too, back in the day).
What has Denver ever given Vancouver? A bad case of the crabs? _________________

Well I did drink some Okanagan there a while back...
And you can keep Walker. That knob put up a lot of pretty numbers but was a detriment to the team and held the Rox back for years. He can take his MVP award and shove it.
Francis though, we do owe you for that one. Sakic too.
I really hope this series goes the distance. The long layoff is absolutely ridiculous. This series should have begun right after the ALCS champ was decided. |

Trying now for WS tickets after the dumbasses running things yesterday managed to have a system-wide outage. Looks like they're still having problems.
