I think Habs fans are going to remind Briere why he chose to not sign here in the first place.

If Philly hadn't had the same troubles Montreal had in closing their series, I'd have picked them to win. But they did, so the pendulum has swung back to the side of good. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? It wil be an interesting series. Maybe before the BOS-MTL series, I would have said that the Habs would kill the Flyers. But now not so much. I think the Habs will win in 6 or 7 but you never know. Here's to a good series between the Flyers and Habs. Going old school, back to the rivalry of the 70s and 80s. _________________

Man, razz must love the level of class in the 2nd round of the Eastern Conference for fans: Montreal, Philly, and the Rangers are all in it. And the Pens fans like Crosby to boot.
1989 was the last time these two teams met, and the only series between the two I can at all claim to have seen. That was when Chelios laid that dirty hit on Propp and Hextall was the one that came to the rescue. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. I think this one goes 6 or 7 with the habs getting the edge slightly... _________________ The crowd once again showed its IQ level when it shouted ``U-S-A, U-S-A,'' during the fight. Their hero, Downie, is from Newmarket, Ont. |

Any expert who says the Flyers will be a more physical opponent than the Bruins clearly haven't watched a hockey game since the mid-nineties.
There are some tough guys on this Flyers squad, but the real nucleus on this team has major offensive skills and can skate. If this series ends up being as fun-and-gun as I think it will be, I give the edge to the Habs because of depth, better goaltending and Komisarek/Markov being a better top pairing than Kimmo/Coburn (although Coburn is impressive).
The Flyers are hot right now, and should look different than the squad we pounded on in the regular season.
This is going to be a new NHL series. Big scoring, speed, passing, and lots of hitting. _________________ John McCain is fit as a fiddle… Is 71 the new 30?” - Fox News' Rich Lowry

Why should Montreal boo Briere?

There's a very good reason for Canadiens fans to loathe Daniel BriËre - and it's not because he spurned Montreal's courtship last July and signed an eight-year, $52-million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.
It's because BriËre blithely flipped the final puck used during Carey Price's first NHL shutout into the Bell Centre stands on Feb. 16.
Even for a non-collector like Price, the vulcanized souvenir from this milestone is a keeper. And even if BriËre didn't realize the significance of the Canadien rookie's 34-save effort that night, he did a very bad thing. |
Although I don't like him, one thing I will never forget and always respect about Patrick Roy was at the end of the 6-5 brawl game and after everything that happened during the game and that rivalry, Patty Roy still shot the puck down to Vernon at the other end because it was Vernon's 300th win. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Le Journal de Montreal had a free print out of Carbo's ugly/lucky tie in their paper today, just in case anyone was wondering why people in the stands had paper ties on. _________________ John McCain is fit as a fiddle… Is 71 the new 30?” - Fox News' Rich Lowry

Flyers should have had that win but oh well. They need to forget about that game and get ready to win Game 2. They know this team is vulnerable and can be beaten. _________________

Shall I draw a syntax tree?
"Read" and "Purchase" would both be connected by lines to "Le Journal de Montréal". _________________
