Some good stickhandling by Zetterberg fools Sakic, Franzen drives to the net and knocks it out of the air for his third.
First Wings playoff hat trick since DMac agains the Avs in 02.

Beyond pathetic. Injuries or no injuries, the Avs just laid down and went to sleep on this one, even when they put a little pressure on in the offensive zone no one really believed they ever had control of this one.
And once again Quenneville befuddles me...it's like the guy simply hasn't a clue how to coach special teams. His most effective men at the point have been Salei and Leopold, and yet he INSISTS on throwing Liles and Sakic out there on the point as the first unit every fucking time. Sakic has no business playing the point, and hasn't for quite some time. If Zetterberg didn't prove that today I don't know what'll convince Q of that short of a pink slip. Q also played Liles, who actually had a decent game, way too much. Unlike Bob Hartley, he picks the absolute worst times to shorten his bench and picks the worst people to do it with. He's only a good coach when he can roll 4 lines and 3 defensive pairings. He saved his job but I'm giving him one more year and one more year only to turn his shit around...
Game 3 will hopefully be watchable. Avs don't win that one I guarantee a sweep. |
