Bad enough I have to watch the freakin Caps broadcast! With the score 1-1 already this game has all the makings of getting out of hand.

I took that approach at 3-1 and watched Dragons Den instead.

Wise choice it was.

You know, I've found myself routing against the Leafs following the 1st handful of games this season. Sure, this is wrong, but my reasoning is:

1) If they suck bad enough ... maybe, just maybe, McCabe will waive his deal & they can ship him off to Boston or Long Island.

2) If they suck bad enough ... maybe, just maybe, John Fergusson will be dismissed of his duties.

3) If they suck bad enough ... maybe, just maybe, Sundin will be traded to a contendor. Aside from his mimicking my hair-do, he's been nothing but class.

4) If they suck bad enough ... maybe, just maybe, they will draft in the top 5 & have a chance at picking a player in the mold of Drake Berehowsky.

This is clearly one of the worse (if not the worse) run franchise in the league. The Leafs have now hit rock bottom & thus, things can't get any worse. With each loss will come something positive.

That's the really sad part. This isn't rock bottom. It isn't even close. Ask Harold Ballard currently burning in a particularly nasty spot in Hell if ya wanna know what rock bottom in Toronto is...still plenty ways to go before the JFJ era hits that low...

It truly is funny to see analysts break down the goals against the Leafs. It's one comedy of errors after another. Simple blown coverage, and the suck just is throughout the whole team.

I agree with everything you said Godfather - except this one. I'm afraid they're one of the best.....

The thing that gets me is the numbers(money wise) would not really take a hit to take two or three years of cellar dwelling in a true rebuild. Get a new experience GM give him four years and tell him the fourth year is when we judge you.

See, the problem with this is that you have more hockey knowledge than the entire braintrust running the show and pulling the JFJ strings.

I find it very funny when most Leaf fans(not including the good members of this board of course) talk about the desire to rebuild. They say they want it, but you know 10 games into the first season, they'll be calling for the head of the new GM, coach, goaltender, and talk about trading all of the young stars for veteran talent to turn the ship around.

Oh by the way I heard there was an audible "Lets go Raptors" chant heard in the third period of last nights game.

Nice touch by the fans responsible. Very Happy
