PREVIEW

Av's three keys to the game:

1. Stop Franzen.
2. Stop Franzen.
3. MOTHER FUCKING STOP FRANZEN YOU PIECES OF SHIT!!!!!

That is all. I'm going to be playing up in Boulder while this is going down. Lose this one and it'll be a sweep for sure.

10pm start. My gym ball hawk league game is at 8:15. Be out of there at 9:15. Should be able to get home by 10. Sweet.

None of this freaking blowing 2-goal leads and letting teams back in the series nonsense tonight, boys. Get a fast lead on the road and shut em down.

Except for Guite, Colorado is sucking it hard on the faceoffs in these playoffs. Get posession immediately and control the shit out of the game! Datsyuk and Draper are both dominating the circle at over 60%.

Kronwall didn't have a monster hit in the last game so he's due.

Dominating...Monster...Get out of my head fucking Maguire.

If we get another shorthanded goal against because dumbass Quenneville rolled Sakic out on the point AGAIN I will most definitely be calling for his head this offseason.

Smyth out, Forsberg questionable, Hannan probable.

This series is over. The Avs are hobbling at just the wrong time........Wings will erase any hope of this being a series of old tonight.

Came in to see both goals by Detroit. Datsyuk on a wierd attempted move/pass that ended up right on his stick with Theo frozen.

Guess who with his 6th of the series on a sweet cross-feed by Lebda, which he took, it started rolling, and he put it between Theo's legs.

Shots are 19-10. Not sure what the action's been like but Detroit was playing well in what I saw. Except they had a really shitty pp for the first minute and a bit of the McLeod penalty.

Sweet pass by Rafalski to Datsyuk sitting right in front of Theo, who corrals it, makes a move then buries it.

Colorado makes it 3-2 on the power play as a result of a nice tip by Brunette.

Forsberg with a 4 minute high stick.

Datsyuk makes a centering pass and Zetterberg puts it in. If Zetterberg was the target of that pass, that was insane.

Detroit takes 2 too-many-men in a row and Brunette cashes in on a rebound on the second one.

Forsberg lays out Kronwall coming out from behind the net when he wasn't looking.

YES!

Datsyuk was a fucking machine tonight. 2 goals, an assist, tons of great forechecking and puck control along the boards. The last few shifts that he had controlling the puck and killing off the clock were fantastic. Big stop by Ozzy on Jones to preserve the win.

Well, no big surprise. One of my teammates was getting regular text message updates on his phone and told me Colorado jumped out to a 1-0 lead. I said right back "that won't last." Sure enough, it didn't. Not entirely the reason we lost and were doomed to lose this series, but injuries have completely decimated us, now STASTNY goes down. This is ridiculous. Countdown to the sweep begins...now!

One glimmer of hope for the future...David Jones might end up being a valuable piece as a guy who brings grit and some scoring to our 3rd line, maybe even 2nd line if he's with the right linemates. I don't expect him to become the next Johan friggin' Franzen, but he could end up being a decent, if unspectacular NHL player.
