Should be a good one. First game is on Thursday night. Dallas is coming off of a long series, but have 3 days to rest up. Dallas missing Boucher. Is he expected back at all, Sloth? Is Dallas missing anyone else? The Deet is only missing Kopecky(out for the whole playoff though - busted knee) and Maltby, though he might be healthy and scratched now. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

| This actually should be fun to watch. Unlike the Sharks, both these teams are playing their best hockey. |

Keep that shit up, boys. Holmer and Franzen should have their asses permanently planted right outside of his crease. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

I haven't heard anything about Boucher yet. He's the only injury on the roster thus far. We're lucky to have Zubov back, though. Should be a good series! _________________

I'm here in Pennsylvania until 5/14. The hotel has VERSUS - so, if I work all morning shifts, I should be able to catch all the games until 5/14. But the morning shift is going to suck. My next store is right downtown Pittsburgh and I have to be there by 7:00am. That means I have to leave the hotel by 6:00am - Monroeville is not far away but the traffic here is total gridlock - it is really ugly.
It sucks to be me. _________________ No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. |

The Stars' coaching staff: Dave Tippett (Moosomin, SK), Rick Wilson (Prince Albert, SK), Mark Lamb (Nokomis, SK)... to go with Team Captain Brenden Morrow (Carlyle, SK). This is an organization that clearly knows what it's doing. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? While at first this series brings a collective ho-hum and a sigh.......upon closer examination both of these teams have been damn exciting to watch. While I could give 2 shits about either of them.....the hockey should be good and that's what I am all about. _________________ -UP THE IRONS! |

Looks like Boucher is out for game one, but hopes to play in the series
| Quote: |
Defenseman Philippe Boucher skated Monday for the first time since suffering a hip injury in Game 3 of the Stars’ first-round series with the Anaheim Ducks and was on the ice again at Tuesday’s optional team workout.
Boucher, who has missed the last nine games, hopes to play in the Western Conference finals against Detroit, but coach Dave Tippett said there is still no timetable for his return.
Boucher will travel with the team to Detroit on Wednesday but said he will “probably not” play in Game 1 on Thursday.
“I have more work to do before I’m ready to play,” Boucher said. “I did a little more today in practice, but I wasn’t out there very long. I’m moving well. I’m ahead of where I thought I would be right now. If I can take little steps every day, that’s good. And once I’m available, we’ll see what happens.” |
Yeah, I'm sure Zubov has been a big boost for you guys. Having 3 rookie defensemen could be a disadvantage with a long playoff run. Are you guys going with 7 D now? _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

The Stars have dressed 7 D for most nights, and had one of their big 3 centers rotate onto the 4th line, although guys like Crombeen don't get a lot of ice, generally. I think Crombeen played less than 2 minutes in that quadruple OT game.
The Stars have dressed: Zubov, Robidas, Norstrom, Daley, Niskanen, Fistric, and Grossman. I wonder who leaves when Boucher is ready... _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. Didn't they sit one of the rooks in one or two games against the Sharks when Zubov came back, only to go back to having 7 D?

Fistric sat in game 5. Not sure if it was injury-related. Wonder if that'll make him the odd man out... _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

News update:
My company moved me to a new hotel today. The Wyndham Hotel in Pittsburgh. Exactly one block from the store I am training in. Right smack dab in the middle of the University district. Great area, tons of coffee shops, bookstores, cafes, restaurants etc etc. Also within walking distance of all the Carnegie Museums.
AND...the hotel gets VERSUS. I am in absolute heaven. Now for Pennsylvania Weird. You can only buy alcohol in State Contracted stores. Some bars sell 6-packs, but they are expensive. The bar downstairs in the hotel will sell a 6-pack......for $33. Luckily the bar tender told me about a campus bar 1 block down and 2 blocks over (Gene's Bar) that sells for less. So I went over there and, LO! they sell 6-p for only $9.
For me, watching 3rd round hockey without a beer in hand is like watching a guy jerk off in the corner....nice to look at but just not quite as fun..... _________________ No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. |

Lil, be sure to do the Pittsburgh thing and get a fish sandwich (with fries in it) at Primanti Brothers on Forbes, near where you're staying.
Also check out the "nationality rooms" in the cathedral-like tower of the University of Pittsburgh. Some very cool decor, and you can even trigger a voice to tell you about them. _________________

No doubt...my ass hurts from watching that game last night.
Stars couldn't stay out of the sin bin long enough to get a rally going....and I do question some of the penalties...but most were earned and done so quite irresponsibly.
PLAY THE F'N GAME AND CUT THE SHITTY PENALTIES ALREADY! _________________
