This new Hockey-Reference website (posted about in the OTP Websource) is allowing people to sponsor player pages. For example:

http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/g/gretzwa01.html

Wayne Gretzky's page is sponsored by James Mirtle. You get to put a tagline for the player as well, as you can see by "Possibly the greatest Phoenix Coyotes Coach ever".

Anyone want to sponsor their favourite players and link to OTP in the process?

$40 per year seems a little steep for more prominent players. The lowest seems to be $10. (I'm insulted that Jyrki Lumme is placed on the same plane as Ralph Intranuovo).

I think it was $100 when I looked up Glenn Hall.

Hmm... indeed some of these are steep.

A random sampling of some available players include:

Nick Boynton - $40
Patrice Brisebois - $10
Marcel Dionne - $100
Kris Draper - $10
Grant Fuhr - $100
Dominik Hasek - $40
Brett Hull - $40
Gordie Howe - $100
Kevin Lowe - $40
Jyrki Lumme - $10
Roberto Luongo - $40
Basil McRae - $10
Mike Milbury - $100
Andre Racicot - $10
Mike Ribeiro - $40
Patrick Roy - $100

I am amused that Mike Milbury goes for so much more than Brett Hull.

I wouldn't be opposed to a $10 player, if we can pick one we think might get some decent traffic. (Brisebois might be a good option).

Hell while we are at it, what about red light?

It's a hockey statistic website. There's a huge baseball one done by the same people. It's quite good, although unlike hockeydb.com, they don't include non-NHL players. But you can sort players by birth in Saskatchewan, which is a very important feature.

I like the idea of sponsoring the stats page of some obscure barely-above-AHL-level scrub out there... Laughing

Does anyone track the most posts struck per game or per minute played? That player would get my vote... Smile

Some were dubbing the Habs dynamic brothers this playoff as the "Post-hitting" brothers, but that was more for the team as a whole rather than the brothers themselves. Mad

Patrice Brisebois is now pimping OTP!

Apparently it'll be up with a day.

Stratigic pimping might be a plan too - RFA's or FA's before July 1 - find the 'top ones'

then perhaps trade deadline have another run on guys.

suggest someone and I'll pick them up...

Hossa is the big fish of the UFA's... he's still available, but he costs $40.

Huselius is going to hit UFA and draw significant attention, and he's only $10.

Sorry that I took the best UFA off the list, though.

Sweet! Well done, Sask... I'll probably pick up Lumme or someone later today or Sunday.

Rory would probably be a smart one to target; people who know that there was some website ("geeks on e-mail") link to the Rory campaign but can't remember which one might be lured...?
