I've had to call 911 once before in my life. But at least that time the incident didn't occur right in front of my face.
Tonight 3 drunks with beer muscles got in to a shoving match at the bar I was at. It escalated because one of them is a serial moron. Unfortunately he wasn't the one that got seriously injured. Two of the guys started wrestling. They fell to the ground. One hit his head and was knocked out instantly. THE OTHER KID KEPT FUCKING HITTING HIM! We kept screaming "He's out! Stop!" But then he kicked him in the head with steel toe boots. The little punk fuck got away.
Mean while the guy is out, convulsing slightly and bleeding out of a huge gash in the back of his head. The bouncer looks at me and asks what we should do. "Should we call for help?" Yes, asshole, we should.
I was hyperventilating talking to the dispatcher. But I managed to calm down.
I hope the guy is ok. I think I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight and my stomach is too tied up in knots to drink myself to sleep. |

Hope everyone got through this okay, Patty. Even morons don't deserve to get hurt like this... Glad to hear that you realized this needed EMS... _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Similarly, the worst part about summer is when all those wannabe skinhead squeegee kids come to Montreal from the boonies to make some extra change and get drunk/high every day.
They get drunk in the streets in the middle of the day, get into fights with people, physically assault seniors and generally leave a trail of destruction wherever they go.
Even worse is how everyone just accepts it now and even the cops don't do anything about these damn teenagers. Every summer we hear about some poor old lady getting mugged in broad daylight, with the cops and locals either ignoring it or standing around watching. Corner St. Denis/Ste. Cath is usually pretty bad. _________________ I need a vacation, sigh

Sounds like you need an upgrade in security. I know who I'd go with.

yeah. I feel bad because I've known the owner for years and he's a great guy. Things started out well for him but between he's own stupidity and some of his friends that he should distance himself from it's gone downhill fast.
That was the first night I've hung out there all night in a while. |

I remember when Sneaky Dee's in Toronto switched the upstairs from live gigs to dance bit. The punk rock element left the upstairs and the fucking UofT jockos came in. That's when the really bad bar fights started. The punks just mixed it up. The jock fucks were the ones that wanted more. I generally find that when kids come into town from the suburbs and get shitcanned on whiskey things go south.
Sorry you had do deal with that Patty, I know how that sound puts a knot in your stomach.
