$700k. He was lights-out for Pitts last season when Fleury went down. No risk and if we don't need him, easily waived, traded, sent down, whatever. Great move by Holland.

Of course, still no guarantee either of Howard or Conklin will be any good next year, but a decent protection measure.

Good signing. With Lilja and Stuart signed all we really need to do is get Filppula and Howard inked and then see what's available. I'd like either McCarty or Downey re-signed if Drake retires. Gotta save cash for next year with Zetterburg and Franzen coming due for big contracts.

Definitely. There was already a contract on the table for a single year for McCarty.
Hudler(RFA) and Samuelsson(UFA) are also up for new contracts at the end of next season. Samuelsson probably won't be back, and I could see us possibly trading Hudler at the deadline this season like we did with the Williams for Calder(Williams had a year left while Calder didn't, and that freed up dough for this past season) depending on the team health approaching the deadline.
