the more i watch how this team and its management manouevers the more i hate myself for being a fan. yes, i said hate, really, really hate. and i dont mean dislike or mild abhorance, i mean come hockey season i will have a time time looking at myself in the mirror.
how much money did the leafs just spend buying out contracts? this time last year raycroft was "the" starting goalie, no matter how much money was paid out to the [ostensible] backup. Sundin and McCabe, no-trade clauses? why dont you just drive down the street with the windows open and throw money out there, you got a better chance of seeing a return on that investment. Baby, bath water and Tucker, all gone. And I'm still bitter about letting Wendle go when we could have picked him up for ~$500,000 (instead he retired and gave his aching back some much needed rest). Look, throw Raycroft into the minors and let him rebuild a little before calling him up, if the plan is to rebuild, split backup time between him and a newbie and then trade him to a team looking for backup. Tucker will have a good season just to spite us for trading him, why not throw him on the third line and see if he out performs, and trade him as well if you really dont want his contract? McCabe we're probably stuck with, but at the end of the day, he's got good years ahead of him, and in the immediate future is only going to get better (with good coaching). As for Cujo, its great having him back, and he's still a quality goalie, but if the plan is to rebuild and cut losses and costs, why not bring someone up from the minors and save a few bucks.
Someone buy Fletcher some depends cuz his head is next on the block and when all the bad decisions come back to haunt him he's gonna crap himself when the ax falls.
be back next year for another rant. |

Pretty sure Fletcher is building this team with the purpose of sucking. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

I seem to recall a BHOA siting a couple of OTP versions ago... Welcome back, BHOA, and glad to see you've found this place. _________________ ... Because the old one, is well, old.

Yes Buddyholly is not new, has been around from time to time with a hit and run posting style...but not in a bad way.
To the topic at hand I've wanted them to get real bad before they can get better for a few years so I am not bitter. So long as they do not bring Sundin back and move Toskala as soon as a team really really needs a goalie I'll be really happy. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

Burning up all of the cap room with lawn furniture like Finger and Hagman is actually a brilliant way for Cliff to give the incoming GM an excuse to suck for about 3-4 years in order to kick-start a real rebuild, and take all the blame himself, so I kind of agree with Hounsy, these crazy signings are probably part of a long-term plan. As a fan, it is going to be very hard to watch, especially since the terms of these contracts put the end of the "bottom-dweller" faze at about 3-4 years time, barring extreme buyouts, but at least I will have something to blame my antisocialism and alchoholism on, which as a Leaf fan is usually the best I can hope for. _________________ (Working in a Call Centre) + (Being a Leafs Fan) = (One HUGE glutton for punishment)

Does Bowman have any other children the Leafs could hire? _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

Still in Colorado, Michael is back in Cali after a brief stint living with Joe, and Joe and Courtney are headed to London! |

theres been so much rain, i might as well have stayed in seattle, and i'm still not over the record snowfall of the winter.
i speak to mikey on a regular basis, he kinda keeps me up with the clan adventures; i dont think i've spoken with joe since the little one came along. he's gotta really be loving the uk to make that kinda move, all he could tell me before was how great living in colorado was. i guess he's changed over to a soccer fan now? maybe arsenal will trade for forseburg and he'll have something to look forward to |
