Absolute highway robbery for John Chick and Fred Perry vs. Cameron Wake if you ask me. Wake has nowhere near the fear factor for opposing offences that those 2 have.
I'll give Wake the nod for rookie over Chick (despite Chick's brilliant year) if O'Day got the nod over Murphy. Sask's dominance of the line is the #1 reason for Joseph's MOP nod... namely, he didn't get injured all year. Every other team had at least one QB injury to deal with. Burris, if he had stayed healthy, would've been the West's MOP nominee.
If Murphy's so great how did Perry and Chick get to injure both Dickenson and Pierce in consecutive meetings? _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

It's the most legibile when you're using OTP Modern.

It's a given: his name is "Chick."

I'll grant you that I didn't think the BC O-line (and by extension Murphy) was as good as last year. But this is voted on by league insiders, and for them to vote for a guy who is apparently widely disliked means he must be doing something right. _________________

In other CFL news:
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/news_story/?ID=221726&hubname=cfl
A league review on the holding call that helped put the final nail in the coffin of Edmonton's season says the ref made the "technically correct" call on the play.
To quote Futurama, "You are technically correct. The best kind of correct." _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

| Joe Smith has been robbed. On the verge of setting the alltime rushing TDs and leading his team to a possible 14 win season. He is the MVP of the league hands down. If it wasnt for Joe BC wouldn't be where they are. A complete joke. |

Ongoing season be damned, here are the:
2007 CFL All-Stars

P Damon Duval MTL............................. P Paul McCallum BC
ST Dominique Dorsey TOR.......................ST Ian Smart BC
Notes: both Hunt brothers make it, pleasing both Sask and us Leo fans.
The fact that NOT ONE SINGLE ESKIMO made it on tickles me pink for two reasons: (1) they're the Evil Empire; and (2) it saved me from trying to figure out a way to distinguish their green from Saskatchewan's without having to use hexidecimal codes.
edit: A tabulation error put SSK Congi as Western place kicker instead of CGY DeAngelis. The CFL has since corrected it. _________________

I'll say this. Joe probably is more deserving than Kerry, but it's a QB-centric league and such nods are to be expected.
Although Joseph is also on the verge of breaking Doug Flutie's rushing TD record for QB's, while leading an offence that has by far the best TD to INT ratio in the league... without their top receiver for a ton of the year (Dominguez).
But it's also a big play league. And there were no bigger plays than this:

he looked like Smith there eh. Joseph had a hell of a year as well. I'll give him that. there's nothing like finishing second place.
I look forward to seeing them in BC place once again. |

Fuck man, when you're pre-programmed for 3rd place being the best you can do, 2nd is amazing.
I never expected to even come close to challenging BC for the division title, so this season is already a success in that context.
The irony of Joseph possibly winning Most Outstanding Player is I still think QB is our weakest position.
Anyways, losing to Calgary right now would be the only real way to make this season a letdown. I'll be disappointed, maybe even angry, but I won't pout if we lose to you guys. Unless we should've won.
We haven't had our token Grey Cup appearance this decade, though. We're due! _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

from worst to first in league in sacks (okay second but not as poetic) and busting big wholes for the leagues leading rusher. This line is fantastic and definitely better.
I don't think Murphy was quite as stand outish this year but the whole line seemed just more solid then they've ever been under Buono. Or it's maybe that Murphy had such a big impact last year solidifying our weakness that we're more ho hum this year about his presence. |

| Toronto has very quietly won 8 of their last 9 games. Excellent defense makes them a solid 2nd in the CFL these days. |

Quite amusing:
Drunk fan in Hamilton starts heckling Paul McCallum, repeatedly calling him a criminal. When he shouts to McCallum that the Lions are going to lose in the playoffs, McCallum points out, "At least we're there!"

YES!?!
Horrible red zone execution, and a couple of lucky freaking plays by Calgary (that deflected INT TD runback as well as the between the legs catch that kept an eventual TD drive alive) made this game much too close for comfort. Fact is, if they fail to convert against like they did this past week, it's not even going to be close.
Big plus was Kerry Joseph turning in a gutsy performance. No turnovers were his fault, although if he had connected on one of the long bombs with wide open deep receivers the game wouldn't have been close down the stretch.
But we're hurting bad for tailbacks right now. Real bad. Hopefully we just sit Ranek and can dress Cates, Holmes (as special teams player) and Childs next week instead of the lineup we had this week. Hughes I like, but he's not as money as Szarka on short yardage for a FB. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say?
