PREVIEW

VS.

The bad guys come to town, where the Avs go for yet another meaningless record, their best home start since their Nords days. Just win, dammit.

Nonetheless, the Avs after years of saying bullshit like "we need to be playing road hockey at home" FINALLY seem to have something cooking that resembles home advantage, something other Denver sports teams have had for years now.

Canucks are severely beat up on the back end and will most assuredly come out swinging. Hopefully the Avs don't just sit there in the first and watch like they usually do. The Sedins, slumping or not, seem to have a way of always getting the better of the Avs' PK.

Hope it's a good contest. We get to see Luc Bourdon make his 2007 NHL debut!

I'm not sure who those guys wearing the nux jerseys were but they looked a hell of a lot better than the team that has showed up for the bulk of their other games, bout time.

You Avsmonkeys were screwed the minute the wife and I were invited out to the John B Pub in Coquitlam, BC by our neighbours to watch the Canucks game. This was the second time this season we watched a HNIC Canucks away game there, the first one being the Canucks-Flames game. They have a draw where you take a ticket with the name of a Canucks player out of a bucket. If that player scores, you win a free round of drinks. In the Calgary game we drew Daniel Sedin and he potted the winner in OT. Against the Evilanche this game we drew Ryan Kesler. So you see we were destined to quench our thirst and see the Canucks through to victory. They are now 2 for 2 in the victory department since we have started this tradition. Your team was doomed from the start, they had no chance at all. Mr. Green

From a gambling perspective , this game stunk of that game a couple seasons ago , after the Olympics , the Canucks were without Jovo , Ohlund , Salo , Baumer , Cloutier , Ruutu ,... plus all the drama , they went into Calgary and beat them. Oh well , I can do my part and help the Canucks go far but Ill be broke!

Edler's developement is great to see , looks better and better every game.

I hope they leave Kesler , Naslund and Pyatt together , they've been productive when together.

Good game , entertaining. Needed Bieksa and Rypien to help Ritchie in the fiesty department but good end to end action.

I only saw the highlights (lowlights if you're an Avs fan) last night but it was surprising to see so many poor decisions and giveaways that the Avs defencemen made - they looked shockingly soft on a couple of those goals. Nice SHG by Finger... Mad

I missed most of this one, looks like the Avs just sleepwalked like they always do in the first part of the game and then when they finally turned it on they ran smack into Roberto Luongo. A good lesson to learn, YOU MUST PLAY ALL THE FUCKING PERIODS, NOT JUST ONE. Oh and I'm glad they didn't match that silly home start franchise record. Goals like that just lead them off the path of what really matters, much like that stupid, useless division title record a couple years back that cost Bob Hartley his job.

Avs defense is in seriously bad shape. Stupid penalty leading to the game-winning 5-on-3 aside I really can't complain about Hannan's play. Injuries are forcing guys like Sauer and Clark to handle bigger minutes which they can't handle, and let's face it, a blueline with Cumiskey and Liles is just not going to be very physical. One will have to go sooner or later, we can't have both.

Really frustrating, the Avs met up against a reeling Canucks team and promptly laid down, but oh well, hopefully we'll actually see a better defensive effort, otherwise I'd say it's time for Giguere to make a move, and soon.

It was a morality tale.
