A note about OTP's appearance

So you're probably thinking, WTF?!

I've selected a more modern look as the default skin for OTP -- one that has the site's banner (clickable to return to the main page) rather than the skin designer's.

HOWEVER, you have the power to choose the look you want.

THERE ARE NOW THREE LOOKS:

OTP Modern: The default, bluey-greeny, very bold

OTP Icicle: The crisp grey, squarey one that we were using today (without an OTP banner, unfortunately).

OTP Classic: Sort of like what we used to have, and with an OTP banner.

You can control which look you want by choosing it in your profile!

Well, I'll try the modern blue for a while. It might be too much for me.

That's Aebischer in the pic, hey?

Ah, that makes sense. He's about the only goalie on Google Images with a picture of a puck clanging iron behind him. Laughing What may not be readily obvious from the pic is that he's actually on the outside of the post... the netting begins to the right. Laughing

I hope people appreciate the Intellivision™ font I used for "Generation II" to indicate modernity. Laughing

I actually didn't realize how good the colors would match with "OTP Modern" (which is actually called Cobalt). I went bluey in general, but it looks far more intentional than it was.

Hey, can we put in our own emoticons? For example, I'd hate to lose :butch: and :chris18: - if you need them, I think I still have them. but it might be easier to grab them from the old forum before it gets shut down... Is Joe going to save it somehow? Like burn it on a CD/DVD for nostalgia's sake? Laughing

Unfortunately, no. Evil or Very Mad The free version of PHP that we're using doesn't allow it.

Jyrki, appears the clock for the bulletin board is running several hours ahead.

I set it to default GMT-5 (i.e. Eastern Time), but it seems to be running at GMT-6, plus a few minutes ahead... I have no idea, it's ignoring my changes when I make them!

You should be able to control your own time zone in your profile panel, though.

The reason is because we are on daylight savings and are now at GMT -4.

Great job guys, looks good!

OTP classic looks very cool IMO.

Also nice to get rid of the old Gretzky gambling poll that was on old OTP!
