Stories:

No word on who is starting in goal yet for Montreal. Should be an announcement soon. Huet had an off-night vs. Toronto on Saturday, where he was definitely outshone by Toskala.

Bouillon will be a near gametime decision. Josh Gorges will draw out of the lineup despite praise from Carbonneau for his work, particularily following the big cough-up vs. Atlanta.

Ryder may be on the top line, he may not be. He'll play, though, it doesn't sound like Carbo's ready to put him upstairs to try and spark him. He needs to simplify his game offensively and just shoot the puck... he's often looking to make one extra move, his first instinct should be to shoot. Ryder has had success vs. Buffalo in the past, getting 10 goals and 8 assists in 23 career games.

For Buffalo, Vanek is starting to awaken from an early season slump, with 5 points in his last 4 games. Ryan Miller, however, continues to struggle. I wouldn't be surprised if Thibault got a game in here (or the next time) vs. Buffalo.

Montreal won the first game between these two teams, 4-2, on Oct. 20 at the Bell Centre. Roman Hamrlik was the first star with a goal and two assists.

I have a feeling that they will start Price and you are right about Ryder, I don't think it is from a lack of effort, as he appears to be trying, but he needs to just simplify his game and as you say Sask, shoot.

He has played well against Buffalo in the past and this may help him get out of this funk.

We've got the Sens on Saturday, that's another possible Price start. You'd think Huet would get the Bruins considering his insane career stats vs. them. Huet's done fairly well vs. Buffalo. I actually want Price to get a start vs. Toronto, maybe next week's game? If that's the case, then yeah, totally start Price tonight and have his next game be in a week in the ACC.

Funny, I was hoping Price would have gotten the start vs the Leafs on Saturday as well and maybe get us out of this friggen funk we have playing the Leafs. Yeah I'd like Huet to start against the B's.We play the Leafs 2 more times this month with both being in TO and including tonight, we play the Slugs 4 times this month alone. Great scheduling. There's a back-to-back with the Slugs at the end of the month. I noticed earlier that we have a bizarre home and home 4 game series we just started for our current 8 game stretch. We play each of our division opponents once at home, and once away.

It goes: Toronto (H), Buffalo (H), Boston (A), Ottawa (A), Toronto (A), Buffalo (A), Boston (H), Ottawa (H).

Then we get one game against the Islanders, the Sabres back-to-back, and then the Leafs again. Important month obviously, but reason #9421 to get rid of this freaking schedule.

Except for 3 games this month with 1 being the very 1st game of the month and 1 being the very last game of the month, it is the same 4 division rivals.

I can only take the Slugs maybe 4 times a year ( nothing against the Slugs), but 4 times in one month. Rolling Eyes

Habs I/O has Bouillon out, Huet starting, and Ryder starting on the first line.

Basically same lineup as Saturday, not sure on the Kostitsyn/Grabovski switch.

I'm not crazy, but Huet cost us the game on Saturday, right? I have fractured memories of that game, and I seemingly remember Huet messing up with little time on the clock.

Ryder will be scratched Thursday if he plays poorly tonight.

I didn't see the first goal, and the second goal was just a fluke. But my memory of the third goal was that while it stoppable, it wasn't a goof on the part of Huet. It's tough to call sometimes because it's expected that a goal must result from some Herculean effort on the part of the shooter, or a fuckup on the part of the goalie. But fwiw, I thought it was a good shot.

About playing down to the Leafs - undoubtedly. We either drop a level, or the Leafs pick it up and we don't respond, and it's getting pretty annoying. I hope Price starts the next game. The team feels a little more relaxed when he's in the nets - regardless of his own play.

2 goals (first and last) in between the left arm and body. Huet errors on both, that hole has to be shut, especially on slow moving shots like Kaberle's and Stajan's shots were (Stajan's was slowed, and yes, somewhat changed because Streit had a stick on it, but still easily stoppable). Not to mention the fact that Huet nearly cost a goal earlier on a horrid giveaway to a Leafs player when handling the puck behind the net.

Honestly, I would of felt guilty on the first and last goals...they where long shots that went through him not around him that he could see.

I think he should have a bit of a muligan on the last goal- Streit's stick was in the way, and I think it was at least a partial deflection. For a slapshot it was really quick, too, Huet might have been screened enough he didn't see the windup.

If it went around him sure, but the uncertainty is all the more reason to collapse and close up.

Especially since the first goal beat him in that exact same hole. Mad

Huet gets the shutout tonight. Didn't see any of the game, but given the SOG, it looks like a pretty good game for him and the Habs... Huet imay be on the way to the most underrated goalie in the league.

Huet needed a big game to keep the boobirds and Price off of his back, and did exactly that.

Sans Drury and Briere, the young Sabres are having a hard time finishing plays. They're still fast and skilled, and can win the puck possession game, but they seem to not have that ability to run up the score as they did last year.

The young guys: Kosty and Chipchura, were great.

Yeah - I noticed Chipchura on the ice in the last two minutes.

Holy shit! Finally a shutout from Huet! First one from either of my fantasy teams(that I actually had someone in net for-Gerber got one but I had him on the bench), and my fantasy goalies for two teams are Luongo, Giguere, Budaj, Legace, then Huet, Hasek and Gerber Confused
My goalies now have as many shutouts as my defense has goals in one pool Rolling Eyes
