The last 11 minutes of last night's Stars v. Kings game was exceruciatingly painful to watch. I tuned in with 11 minutes left in the 3rd, Stars were leading 4-0. Sweet! Let's watch the rest of the game and see the Stars win.

WRONG.

With about 8 minutes left in the game, the Kings scored five goals in a span of five minutes (Thanks, Turc-hole) to turn the game into a 5-4 ass raping from the Kings. Feeling the pressure, Modano scored a game-tying goal to send it into OT.

2:34 into OT, the Kings scored again, making it six consecutive goals on six conecutive shots.

The Stars have now elected to change the logo on their new RBK jerseys to this:

Man, I checked scores earlier in the night and saw 4-0. I came back later, thought I saw 6-5 and knew if had to be wrong. Then I clicked on the boxscore Shocked

Something similar happened on the season opener either last year or the year before.

Strange things happen in these Dallas-LA matchups.

I'm not trying to read too much into this but it sounds like Turco is none too happy w/his teammates on this one...

Quote:
"The whole third period was brutal," Turco said. "Other than embarrassing, it's a total lack of respect for each other. You can't just sit back and wait for it to go your way. You've got to make things happen. And we haven't been making enough happen. We were just lucky to get a point out of all that."

Yep, no doubt this played a huge part.

Kinda stupid that the owner didn't see this coming. This was a team that barely made an impact in the postseason and they managed to downsize even more than they did previously...do you honestly expect to compete when all you add in the offseason is Brad Winchester and Todd Fedoruk?? Rolling Eyes

In a move of pure genious (IMO... Wink ) Brett Hull and Les Jackson will share Co-GM duties for the Stars until a replacement is found.

Norstrom over a full year should've been a big enough improvement.

They were already one of the best defensive teams in the league. Norstrom, while certainly a big addition to any team, doesn't address their woeful scoring situation up front.

I don't think that's entirely fair. I think it allowed their top 2 lines to play more freely in the offensive zone.... helped Ribs, just Modano's been dragging the team down.

Well I've never been a big fan of Modano's, if I were Hull I'd ship his whiny ass out of town pronto.

Anyhow, I guess a trade between the Habs and Stars involving Ryder and Robidas would be out of the question now that Montreal appears to have themselves set on the blueline...? Just a thought...

Hull and Modano are good buddies so I would hihgly doubt Hull would get rid of Mo. That is unless Mo isn't happy in Dallas and wants to go somewhere else. However...it is a business and Hull has to do what's best for the team. I don't know if Modano is what's holding the team back, though.

I'd be willing to say that despite him signing the big contract that Mo hasn't been happy in Dallas ever since they stripped him of the captaincy.
