Count me in for the Riders.
Sad that my bandwagon CFL team could probably beat the crap out of my favorite NFL team at this point. |

Absolute highway robbery for John Chick and Fred Perry vs. Cameron Wake if you ask me. Wake has nowhere near the fear factor for opposing offences that those 2 have.
I'll give Wake the nod for rookie over Chick (despite Chick's brilliant year) if O'Day got the nod over Murphy. Sask's dominance of the line is the #1 reason for Joseph's MOP nod... namely, he didn't get injured all year. Every other team had at least one QB injury to deal with. Burris, if he had stayed healthy, would've been the West's MOP nominee.
If Murphy's so great how did Perry and Chick get to injure both Dickenson and Pierce in consecutive meetings? |
Wake was more dominant, and I would say that Wake and Johnson are also a better tandem than Chick and Perry. Wake was 1st in sacks (Johnson was 3rd) while having as many tackles as Perry on a higher ranked defense.
As for Murphy, IMO he is simply the best O-lineman, hands down. Despite having inexperienced QB all year, who wasn't supposed to run because of the injuries to Dickenson and Pierce, we still gave up fewer sacks than Sask by a fair margin (if O'Day is so great how come Sask gave up 12 more sacks?) I don't remember the schemes on the plays where our QB's were injured, but a) I find it hard to believe that any O-lineman wasn't beaten at some point this year and b) the fact we gave up only 32 sacks with the struggles our offence had in the first half of the season is astounding. There were also numerous games throughout the year where teams were more concerned with getting Murphy than our QB. This is the line that led the way for the CFL's leading rusher.
At the same time I don't watch enough Sask games to make a fair assessment of O'Day - but this would at least be the argument for Murphy.
As for this weekend - the Saskatchewan team scares me. The Lions should win, but Saskatchewan has all the pieces in place to pull an upset - plus they are due. |

We're doing alright with Flick & Fantuz as slotbacks anyways.
And as I've stated earlier, no free agent in their right mind wants to come to Regina. EVER. See Flory, Scott. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. HORSESHIT.
With this precedent, anyone CAN DO ANYTHING FOR THE ENTIRE PLAYOFFS TO ANOTHER PLAYER WITHOUT FEAR OF SUSPENSION.
Open season, fuckers. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

We've seen this problem all season long - why does it take too long to suspend players? I really don't care whether Jimengez is suspended, but the CFL should be able to make up its mind in 3 days or less. |

While I agree that players have the right to appeal, why should it take so long to make a decision ? In this case the Lion's had a bye. This should have been decided before the Western final. (depending on when the appeal was made).
And this could have been the plan by the Lion's brain trust. Wait til the 11th hour to appeal knowing the result would take weeks similar to Gass.
| tsn wrote: |
The precedent for appeal was set earlier this year, when Edmonton Eskimo linebacker A. J. Gass was given a one-game suspension for throwing the helmet of Calgary lineman John Comiskey in an Aug. 4 game.
Gass appealed and an arbitration hearing overturned the suspension but the process took several weeks. |

Are these people aware that you refer to them as friends when they're not available to defend themselves or do we need to warn them? |
