One of the most visited threads of the old era deserves to start anew, with all new music recommendations.

My fave band right now, Australia's Cut Copy, has a new single out for their upcoming second record, In Ghost Colours, which comes out in 2008.

The first single is called So Haunted, and even though I can't post the You Are Elle, google search "Cut Copy So Haunted" and the link to the mp3 will be the first one.

Laughing Laughing

I was checking out youtube versions of "It's all over now, baby blue" and found a really funny version of it by Falco. So apparently that's what I'm listening to right now. God this is a heinous crime against humanity!

The newest Art Brut album (It's a Little Complicated) isn't nearly as fantastic as their previous release (Bang Bang Rock & Roll), but the song "I Will Survive" is one that I keep coming back to... over, and over again. It's an oddly perfect rock song. The lyrics are about refusing to grow up, mainly because he has no idea how to go about it. The guitar riff kind of makes it almost like an anthem, but it's more tongue in cheek than anything. Brilliant song from a brilliant band.

It's concert season (Rocktober), so I think I'll now re-launch that thread.

Silversun Pickups!

They're playing a show in Edmonton on Monday in between American and European shows, but it's a "win-to-get-in" only with the local modern rock station.... Mad

Great album though.....The Anniversary meets Sonic Youth with a dash of Gish-era Smashing Pumpkins.

The first single was awesome. I heard another song that I think was them and it sounded amazing. I might have to check out that album...

The ringing in my ears. I knew it was trouble when the unmarked vans showed up at the house last night and guys started running in and out carrying speakers and lighting. I was like "whaaa?" Then all of the sudden "BOOM". I rode it like a mechanical bull. Now I hurt. My head is like porridge. Bake me and put me back to bed.

"Leave Before the Lights Come On" by Arctic Monkeys.

They may never be as good as the massive hype that surrounded them, but that song is 3:30 of pure perfection. I play it when the Rams lose - it's cathartic.

The first time I post in this thread.

Can someone please pull Jupiter One's "turn up the radio" out of my head?

And I'm on this punk rock trip again. Don't forget I'm getting old.

Gary Allan's new album comes out tommorrow. The man is as cool as Nashville gets. This is edgy, grunge country, the stuff Merle and Buck made famous so long ago. Totally stoked.

I can't post the link yet, but if you go to youtube and search Gary Allan "Chasing Airplanes", not only is it a killer tune, but there's a neat cameo 10 seconds in, which the Denver contingent should especially appreciate...

I'm not a big Tragically Hip fan, but I just heard Wheat Kings - and man, I really love that song.

Shit yeah man! They played pretty much the whole thing at the show on Monday plus a few songs from their older EP, which I'm trying to locate right now.

Fucking incredible live act to see, especially in a smallish venue like the Starlite in Edmonton.
