Well the zebras just fucked the Riders on that one. How the fuck can a ref blow the call with the aid of instant replay???
Joseph was last on the ground nearly a yard behind the line of scrimmage and released the ball in the air...incredibly poor officiating.

Great game by the In-bred Skatches (is that redundant?)... They absolutely earned that win - terrific game by the QB - especially on the play-action. Disappointed that the Lions offense couldn't do jack-shit when they had the ball; also by the failure to put Jackson back in when it was clear that the Riders were just pinning their ears back and blitzing him on every opportunity... 
Shoulda known that this game was in doubt for the Lions - wasn't razz in the stands for this one?

What a giant turd. Skatch fans all around my group, fuck they are annoying. Cant remember when I saw the Leos play this badly. Jackson was ineffective, Dickonson immobile - not just slow, immobile - and the safeties and linebackers did nothing all day. Memo to the coaches - every late screen in the first half went for big Rider yards. Might want to adjust to that - next year.

By the way DH the ball hit the ground, don't know if that's the play you're referring to our not. If it's the illegal forward pass, my buddy was watching it and said Joseph was 5 yards over the scrimmage line - I was more concerned with all the wide open Riders downfield

The ball did hit the ground, it's the illegal forward pass (that was reviewed, there was one earlier that was legit that wasn't challenged). And no, he wasn't 5 yards over, your buddy was looking at the wrong line. And it was an ex-Roughrider head coach who decided the play. Fucking Daly never did us any good ever.
But who cares!
Joseph sucked balls, guys. I don't know what you were watching. He underthrew about 33% of his passes and over threw another 15-20%. Jackson definitely sucked and Dickenson just couldn't handle the Riders' pressure... he panicked whenever they got close.
No matter how "weak" a Dim-witted led Winnipeg team is, they can't possibly be as bad as we were in '97 when we made it.
12-6 record + Home playoff game + Grey Cup appearance + Saskatchewan-Winnipeg Final = GREATEST. SEASON. EVER.

Nah, the trap instead of pass was the correct call. I was referring to the challenged call on the illegal forward pass. He wasn't anywhere close to 5 yards over...Joseph jumped into the air about a half yard before the line of scrimmage and released the ball while in the air. According to the CBC guys the rule is where he was last in contact with the ground, therefore it was a legit pass. |

You can't hand the Riders 13 point on unpressured turnovers to start the game. Our offense is not what it was 3 or 4 years ago and able to light it up and put on 20 points in a quarter.
Having said that, the Riders are a much more disciplined team under Austin. They used to spend so much time taking dumb penalties, not anymore. Although their fans certainly haven't quit whining about the refs yet. 
Joesph continues to impress me this year, not so much that he is spectacular but just that he has become so damn dependable. There is a lot to be said for having the same QB there all year long.
Should be Riders by 20 next week. I'd wish them luck but they don't need it. |

The Bombers still have the 2nd best D in the CFL, the best offensive player in the league (Roberts), the league's all time TD leader (Stegall) who is also their inspiration (never won a Grey Cup, and it's his last year).
This ain't going to be a 20 point romp.
And you're forgetting... this is an actual rivalry in the final. One of, if not the best rivalry in the CFL. Anything happens in these matchups. We beat them in '02 with Rocky Butler pressed into action in the Labour Day Classic for Christ's sake.
That being said, we better win.

from a fashion perspective for the Leos , though their alternate unis are awesome , esp the helmuts I wish they wore their standard home orange. If all the fans are wearing the home orange , it would make sense if the actual team wore it too. Nothing to do with the outcome just saying...

Yeah, we dropped the ball on this one. When US679 and I met here a few months back we talked about giving you guys the avatar at the beginning of the NFL season, but we haven't ever followed up.
US679 isn't a Riders fan, so we'll just have to get you back here right away with some Bears propaganda. We kind of got bummed they didn't win the Super Bowl so we couldn't make you wear some nice celebratory digs from that. Which is kind of cautioning me against waiting until next week on this pro-Riders one.
