How;s the knee feeling now, Scott?

Friday and Saturday it really hurt as I was limping. Then on Sunday it started to get better, and each day it has gotten better. I'd say today I'm 90% and not limping at all.

Great to hear it's getting better!

How's yours, Hounsy? Have you used the new C/A?

Played a game on Friday night for my younger bro in the Shwa. It was a bunch of his buddies in their early twenties in a tournament. Most of them were wasted before the game. We somehow managed to only lose 2-1(gave up 2 in the first, tied the second and scored 1 in the third), giving up a whole bunch of power plays and having 2 guys tossed. I played well if I do say so myself Laughing I had to pull myself as we managed to hold the puck in their zone and press for the final 2 minutes, and everyone on the bench didn't think of getting me out of the net Laughing After the first game, they separated the top 4 teams and the bottom 4 teams. I don't know how because we lost, but they managed to go into the top 4. They killed the team they played Saturday morning, then played the same team as they did Friday night and lost 6-2, with my brother saying that he played a great game. I can't imagine how much more wasted they were for that one Laughing

Rutz was pretty hammered in the game that I played in, but no, they were not the guys tossed. One of the guys tossed was one of the guys on the Avs. One of the other guys on the Avs showed up half an hour late, but we hadn't even started so he made it in time Laughing The third Av playing for the team was too drunk, and I didn't see him on the ice munch in the game that I played, and Tim said that he took like 3 shifts in the last game Laughing That team they played was fucking fast, made great passes, and played really well together. Not a great recipe for success for a bunch of drunk kids Laughing

As you know in my younger days I've had my fair share of drunk fests, but never before a hockey game.

Neither have I. I said before the game: "It's probably a good thing that the only sober guy on the team is the goalie" Laughing

My bro played an intramural game at university drunk once. I think it was his 19th birthday. He got a shutout.

Older bro plays Sunday mornings in Georgetown. He was still drunk from the night before one time, and asked Tim to drive him to the game. They get to the rink, and Tim ends up playing for him too, while Mike sleeps through the game in our bigass van Laughing

Speaking of Tim, do you know his work schedule?

Only played with a drunken teammate once. He was completely useless out there. One of my other teammates had a talk with him the following week. Hey, I don't mind if you show up to the rink wasted, but you better fucking bust your ass out there! Laughing

I couldn't even imagine playing drunk. Had a slight buzz once off a beer and a cap'n-n-coke I had at the strip club across the street from the rink before we played but that's as close as I've ever gotten.

Getting closer to getting back on the ice. It's gonna suck since I likely picked up some bad habits on rollerblades, like skidding to a stop instead of actually stopping.

I think he might be 3 days, 3 evenings and then 3 days off this week, and I'm not sure what day he starts. So I think he's either off or working a day on Thursday.

Cmon, I haven't been that bad Laughing

My Velo is around four years now, but in great shape so should get some value out of selling it. Bought a Brown 2000.

The Velo was good for protection twice got hit in the underarm and both times it was warm-ups and I was not squared up. My only complaint is it just had way to much stuff in the chest area so wanted to try the brown as it does not have the "heart guard" chest plate thing.

My man boobs are big enough without stuffing.

But I do buy gear I don't need that I don't think will help my game either, but I just want it... so yes a bit of a gear whore.

Laughing

I bought a Simmons Matrix about 2 years ago. I still love the thing. Only one stinger where I took a puck in a weird spot on the collar where there isn't much padding on this one edge. Puck got in there perfectly, and it's the only time that that ever happened. Once in a blue moon I'll crank my elbow off the ice in a weird spot and get one of those fun elbow bruises.

I don't have any man boobs so the chest plate thing is all right by me. Laughing

I took one of my old neck guards and stitched right to the collar of the C/A. works awsome for those neck/collar shots. I also stiched some plastic flaps in my rib/armpit area for the armpit/rib shots. I use to get the rib shots all the time with my old Vaughn. I have scars. Fuck did those rib shots hurt.

I just let those ones in Razz

You wearing a throat dangler? I've only taken the one shot that managed to hit me in the collar while wearing one.

I'm butting in here, but I'm a beer league goalie too, and I wear a maltese gel clavicle/throat combo. It's awesome.

I've taken some righteous shots right to the clav and only come away with a minor bruise.

The guy that makes them is very cool, will work with you on specs and mods on your first purchase even, and they embroider your name or initials on the thing for free - which helped a buddy of mine one time when he left his in a dressing room.

I got rid of the dangler as fast as I could and I don't miss the noise, discomfort and the fact that it would rise up as I went up for high shots - leaving my throat/neck exposed.

Read many a glowing review on the Maltese gel products, if I was to go with a collar it would be the choice hands down. The Brown I bought has a collar attached but will likely pull it off after one test run with it on. The only problem I ever had with a dangler was the noise and once I rubber trimmed the edges of all my mask I no longer find it a problem.
