Quick - somebody sign this guy up! Like everyone else in the NW, he thinks the Nucks are the Spawn of Satan! Cool

Better yet, let's just link every Wild GDT thread to his blog... Very Happy

I think that comment was made with eyes firmly rolled... you can see from earlier posts that he wasn't impressed by the pre-game rhetoric.

Oh I know... I just liked that he was an actual Wild fan who could string more than two words together without moving his lips... Wink

His blog name is way too similar to this web forum I frequent, though.

Just wanted to drop by and say thanks for checking out the blog, thanks for the links, and hopefully I can (positively) add to your hockey experience - even from a Wild fan's perspective.

Enjoy the reunion with Bert tonight.

You're an "out of market" fan. That's this site's bread and butter.

Welcome aboard, Nick. Smile

Forgive Jyrki... He's responsible for nuking the spammers... And he got a little out of control with his delete button...

Welcome, NiNY! And hope you enjoy our little home away from home.

Sweet! 135 minutes of shutout hockey for Luongo!

Welcome to first place in the NW again!

Though I personally hope it doesn't last the evening! Wink

How about that Pronger, eh? How often does he have to blow Campbell to keep getting away with all these cheap shots?! Wow...maybe that's why Mrs. Pronger wanted out of Edmonton. "If I have to keep making all these trips to Toronto to sleep with that guy, I'm at least going to live in a warmer climate!"

Wild have a date with the resurgent 'Yotes tonight.

Bryz won the first three games of our (lone) playoff series against the Fowl last year, so he's quite familiar with us.

Minnesota claims Coyote blueliner, and Phaneuf wannabe, Keith Ballard as a native son.

Last season when the Coyotes were in town, Gretzky had a little visit with University of Minnesota power forward (and Coyote first round pick) Blake Wheeler. Blake and the Golden Gophers have gotten off to a rocky start this season, so I wonder if Gopher's coach Don Lucia has asked Wayne to deliver another inspirational lecture to his best player?

For the Wild, coach Lemaire was sufficiently dissatisfied with the effort of everyone not named Foy, Sheppard or Voros at practice yesterday that he sent the latter three off the ice for a little R&R and then proceeded to take the rest of the (veterans and stars) to task for dogging it and then skate them extra hard.

Pavol Demitra is expected back in the lineup tonight for the Wild.

Backstrom SHOULD get the start.

Welcome to the boards, Nick!

Bettman's afraid as hell of Burke, and doesn't want big bad Brian angry with him, so Campbell keeps things in line for him.

Ahem... I think the correct retort to this is, "Neener-neener-neener..."

Go 'Yotes! Actually, I think they're due for a reality check.

Saw that first Nucks/Wild game and was very surprised to see how poorly the Wild played - I mean, they let Vancouver skate past, around and behind them. This was nothing like last year's games.

More Backstrom!!!

Why do I two years in a row make the mistake of trying to use what I think is the Wild starter on money fantasy team?

Liberally borrowing from the words of a much wiser hockey man than I am, the Wild don't have enough talent to win on talent alone.

You guys have absolutely skated circles around us in both our matchups this year.

I think the second one (the infamous "Recenge For Mikko" game) was more instructive than the first. To begin with, we clearly let the hype get the better of us and then when the adrenaline rush wore off we were flatter than my relatives riding the tryptophan wave an hour after Thanksgiving dinner. But I don't want to sell the Canucks short.

In both games so far they've been the far better team. That's where this apathy from the Wild (as in practice yesterday) - especially from the veterans - is so galling.

Don't know if this is the kind of information you're looking for on non-Canucks games, but:

Harding - IR (head)

Petteri Nummelin - IR (head)

Nolan Schaefer still backing up Nik Backstrom, who starts tonight.

Demitra activated off IR, will play tonight.

Matt Foy - healthy scratch tonight (had goal, assist in last game).

Derek Boogaard - healthy scratch tonight.

Kurtis Foster - scratch tonight (facial fracture).

***

Backstrom has four wins (2 SO) against the Coyotes, all-time.

Welcome Nick. Smile

Anyhow, why in the heck would Foy be scratched the way he's playing???

Nick,
Feel free to start a new thread for each home game in this forum. We generally have tried to keep the GDT in the home teams forum to:
- Eliminate duplicate threads
- Allow members to e-joust in the same thread
- Potentially attract new members in less active fora (and so far this has been a resounding failure).

Welcome again, and we look forward to your contributions! Very Happy

We're kind of scratching our head at this too. The Foy/Shep/Voros line has been great the last couple games.

Radio, whose job was on the line when we got Fedoruk also scored last game, but didn't impress me more than the other kids did.

I don't get sitting Foy.

Where are you in DTC? I lived in Denver from 97-01. Great times.
