Silly Article

Quote:
ANAHEIM, Calif. — Jaroslav Spacek is no dummy. He knows if he’s getting a few days in the warm weather, he had better remember the family stuck in the brisk winds and snow.

“The wives are probably disappointed we’re leaving two days before the game, so everyone’s probably got a long list of Christmas shopping,” the Buffalo Sabres defenseman said.

Pratt's daughter discovers snow...

Quote:
Defenseman Nolan Pratt came to Buffalo after spending six years in Tampa, Fla. So for his 5-year-old daughter, Ella Brooke, snowstorms like the one that struck Thursday are new.

Like her dad, who grew up in Alberta, she enjoys the snow.

“It’s really the first time she’s been actively playing in it, and she’s pretty excited,” Pratt said. “It snowed overnight [recently], 2, 3 inches, and the next morning she’s in the snow in pajamas and Crocs with no idea that, ‘Yeah, it’s cold, too.’ ”

It’s not as frigid as she first thought, however. Before coming to town, the family saw “March of the Penguins,” the movie set in Antarctica. The girl asked if that was Buffalo.

“No,” her dad said with a laugh, “but it’s close.”

Right above this there's also a blurb about Vanek taking a puck off the side of the head ans just shaking it off and getting back in front of the net. I didn't even notice he got hit... just wow.
