That may be the funniest thing I've ever seen on a goalie mask.
edit: Though Garth Brooks on Mike Smith's mask is pretty funny too.
edit2: And LaBarbera better watch out -- Metallica is going to sue him for copyright infringement.
edit3: Tellqvist - super classy with the Jets tributes.

Yeah you didn't know that? Yeah a lot of Avs fans comment all the time on that, he definitely has the best mask of any Avs goalie ever, if that actually means anything.
BTW didn't know it was Avs EM Terry Geer who came up with the reference, just because I'm always desperate to mention what few claims to "fame" I have, I grew up playing hockey with him (Terry was a goalie too) and his brother, though admittedly, Joey Geer was about 10 levels above me ability-wise, if he were bigger I imagine he would've had a legitimate shot at the NHL.
Anyway very cool set of articles. My favorite mask of all time is probably Jamie Storr's, which had dragons painted on it in honor of his Japanese mother. It's too bad more often than not it's the fringe goalies who have the coolest masks. |
