Hmm... has Rask had to make a save this period?

Lesson for today: When watching the Bruins, one team will get a three goal lead. When I stop watching after the first to play video games, the other team will make some sort of come back Confused

Lesson for today: The Habs have negative confidence. No confidence would be a good start.

Well I hoped the Bruins would mount some sort of offensive offense. Lo and behold after researching the Indonesian Revolution....we have a game. Should be a good 3rd. Damn Habs.

Broken arm or separated shoulder for Begin?

How was that not tripping?

What sucks about the injuries in not just the short bench for this game, but that Streit has had a bit of a bounceback game on D, and now will get pressed back to forward if both Smoke and Bégin are hurt...

YES!

Dandenault from Higgins and O'Byrne!

O'Byrne's passing is simple and mature. Two points in his NHL debut.

Higgins with a 3 point night. Someone's doing the leading tonight.

BTW, aside from getting slashed and maybe hurting his wrist, Markov has looked like Markov tonight. Responded really well to Carbo calling him out and getting put back with Komi.

I've been holding a lot of positive thoughts back tonight for fear of them blowing up in my face. Laughing I figured I got away with the sorta Streit compliment and now am feeling good. The D has been much improved... still not where it needs to be, though..

Yawn. Half our team is out with injuries, and it's the famous first game back after a long roadie, and our 3rd game in 4 games. Thanks scheduling fuckheads - this is probably the first home scheduling loss in the history of the league. Thanks also to Campbell for not suspending Dandenault.

I suppose all of this is irrational, pro-Bruin, trolling bile, at least in the Gospel According to Jyrki...

Rask is a f'n sieve! This game is gay! I'm out of here to the Flames game. I don't think I have seen Wideman hit the damn net once this season.

Throw shit on the ice! Pelt that Finn with Mini-cups!

I'm pretty sure other teams have had that kind of schedule, razz. Laughing

Anyways best 3rd period the Habs have played in a long time. Didn't just make the goalie win it for them.

I am prone to hyperbole, but the 3rd in 4 nights being the first back from a roadie, rather than actually on or at the end of said roadie, is rare...

Not in the East. Maybe in the West, though.

The horrendous road trip was as follows: Tampa Bay, Long Island, Newark, back to Boston.

I get what you're saying, the schedule was most certainly not in their favour tonight, but it's not exactly a cross country trek.

Well, that was a fun night, despite the B's one period of effort
Stinky, we did end up in a bar, but after the game was over
We actually stayed till the bitter end
Though I must admit, when Montreal went on the power play with only 2:00 left, I looked at the time and thought "if we leave now, we can catch the 9:30 train"

Funniest part of the night was when we realized the 9:30 train was still there, way the hell down the end of the tracks (already started moving, slowly)
Some chick decides to try for it and starts the "I'm too cool to run, so I'm gonna walk really fast like I have to pee" run
the train would sit there until she got close, then pull forward another 50 feet or so, then stop, she'd get close, and it would pull forward again...

We were following slowly the whole way, partly for the humor factor, and partly because hell, if they hold the train for her, we'll make it too Laughing
The train finally pulled away from her, leaving her dejectedly standing at the end of the "pier" ... man, she had a LONG fucking walk back to North Station Laughing

As for the game, it's obvious the ice at the TD Bank North Garden is tilted in one direction - the direction opposite where we were sitting.
All the goals (and almost all the shots) were at the far end.
We did have a birdseye view of Reich's "fight", where he got his ass kicked by Boullion. He tried to get whoever wears #10 for the Canadiens to fight, but he wouldn't...then Boullion stepped up. Reich got 2 or 3 quick ones in, then Boullion snapped his head back with a straight right.
At that point Reich began his imitation of a fish trying to get off of a hook Laughing

Watching the game live confirmed two theories I've had for awhile:
1) Bochenski is one of the laziest, wastes of talent there is.
2) Sturm is a colossal waste of cap space.
Marco brings nothing to the game as far as playmaking or creativity, so to be effective he must be
a) skating, really fast
b) shooting, a lot
This season, tonight no exception, he does little of either
Watching Bochenski get pushed off the puck as easily as if he were a child time and time again was laughable
And Schaefer just waiting for the passes to eventually reach him (or not)
was extremely annoying, but not surprising.
It WAS surprising to actually see him throw a few hard checks
There was a good amount of checks being thrown in this game, which made it somewhat enjoyable to watch, despite the fact that the Bruins went back into their 1st period malaise in the 3rd.
Seeing them dump the puck on a powerplay over and over was disgusting

Seeing as we missed the train, we went across the street to the Penalty Box
My friend who lives near the train station in Billerica downed MANY shots of Dr. Magillicuty, we had a few rounds of Yaeger to celebrate my birthday,
followed by a few beers of course and barely made the next train...
Oh, the people on that train LOVED us Laughing
