It WAS surprising to actually see him throw a few hard checks
There was a good amount of checks being thrown in this game, which made it somewhat enjoyable to watch, despite the fact that the Bruins went back into their 1st period malaise in the 3rd.
Seeing them dump the puck on a powerplay over and over was disgusting

#10 would be Guy Lafleur. I think the number you're looking for is #40, which is Lapierre.  Lapierre is more a "let's get him to take a penalty" guy, but on occasion he actually will scrap. He's not completely a Matt Cooke type, in that he'll drop 'em in a scrum, but he won't drop 'em in that situation.
Good stuff, hip. Though I'm glad the game wasn't completely enjoyable.

No, the no. 10 was actually Guy Lafleur. He was tired of seeing all those 4th liners out there so he wanted to show them a thing or two.

Yup, it was 40 ... should've known that
A few of the guys hadn't watched the B's much since the lockout, so their unbiased consensus was:
1) Sturm is a floater - perhaps he's unhappy about skating with Metropolit
2) Metropolit is a bargain - guy hustles and backchecks like a demon
3) Chara is not a bargain
4) The Canadiens seemed MUCH faster than the Bruins
5) Kovalev always seems to be lurking when a puck is turned over, like a shark smelling blood in the water.
The biggest concern in our section of the stands was the Bruins continued insistence on passing the puck to the Montreal point men.
Montreal by comparison, skated the puck out of their own zone aggressively, putting pressure on the Bruins D through neutral ice
It seems the instigator rule has been ditched
Reich got a 10:00 misconduct after his fight, but not the gate
We figured he got the 10 for delaying the game while his blood was mopped up
As my drunken friend pointed out,
"the problem with Reich is - he's a bleeder!"
