A team will take on one of the heavier-salaried players if they also get something for their troubles, à la Malakhov, or the Fedorov/Marchant debacle. I could see Schneider going with a decent prospect or draft pick for some no-name so as to free up cap space.
Moving Beauchemin, as mentioned by others, doesn't really help Burke out, so he has no incentive to do it.

Since the Ducks have the Oilers' 1st round pick in the upcoming draft, Burke could dangle their own 1st rounder to take a D-man and his salary off their hands as per Jyrki's idea. He used to like moving 2nd rounders when he was Canucks GM. I understand it could be Sean O'Donnell being moved to get the team under the cap. Then there's always the possibility Burke could buy out Nieds at the end of this season if he needs cap space to re-sign Perry. Buying Niedermayer's contract out at 2/3 spread over 2X the lifetime of the contract with the possible increase of the cap will give Burke room to maneuvre. I'm sure Scott would prolong filing his retirement papers if he was given a whole wack of cash to not play. |

The Ducks don't have their first rounder, Edmonton does (Pronger). 
The Ducks do have Edmonton's 2nd and their own 2nd, though, as possible trade bait.
