I am not high on Russians. But that's my hang up.

If we can get him for Wideman, Bochenski or any D tool except Lashoff (Gentle Giant excluded as well) sure.

With Columbus in the position they are in they may be expecting some Veteran presence like Axelson......or Murray.

Well I can see that I am going to have to start returning to HF and Calgarypuck. This place is dead........

People are actually talking about trading Kessel over at HF!!!

Well we're clearly a contender, so might as well go for it. Just hope we don't have to give up much young talent...

They won't give up Wideman for a forward (that would be admitting a mistake)
I wouldn't either though, Wideman is actually a +7 this season, and has played much better than what he showed last season. He still makes risky decisions, and puckhandling mistakes, but is still young (younger than Zherdev)

I'd leave Stuart and Ward off the list as well, unless Columbus has a brain fart and offers Zherdev for Ward straight up...

Bochenski, however, was the first name I thought of as bait Laughing

I don't think I'd offer Axelson, though he's clearly seen better days
If Columbus is crazy enough to take Murray for Zherdev straight up, they should jump on it.

On the other hand I can't think of one Russian prospect that has turned out well for us. Every Russian we touch turns to crap...

I watched a little of tonight's game trying to get a look at Zherdev...
it took quite awhile before I even noticed him
I didn't see him do many productive things
He was very stationary with the puck in Boston's zone on one shift in the 2nd, finally passing to the point (like he wasn't interested in making something happen with skating)
He had a few turnovers at his blue line (though he got back and re-stole one of them)
He was slashing Wideman pretty good late in the 3rd, but Wideman managed to turn the net on him anyways and carry out of trouble

after watching tonight, it's hard to believe this guy has 24 points
though I guess anyone can have an off night
but like you said, Razz, with Boston's luck with Russians, that can be 3 out of 4 games a week
Mad

And we are having success by everyone buying into the defense first approach. That's precisely why Zherdev has had trouble in Columbus - why would we want that?

Note: Razz reserves the right to do a complete about face if Boston does, in fact, acquire the rights to this player

Very Happy
