| Dammit. I watched the first two periods of almost Leaf domination in this game (up 2-0) only to fall a sleep at the beginning of the third and wake up to find Leafs losing 3-2 in OT. WTF? Toskala held them in the game in the 1st. Grahm was letting huge rebounds in the first two periods. Blake had a breakaway that he should have scored on, I don't get how a guy with that many shots has such few goals. Whats up with getting two penalties in OT and losing by a PPG? I guess when you give a team 8 PPs you can expect to lose. Argh. |

When the Leafs don't play the full game, they lose. Most teams can get away with it and get the win, but the Leafs can't. When they don't play those minutes, they collapse and they collapse hard. How many games have they had where they've played well for 50 minutes and in that 10-minute span they completely give away the game? _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

That's 80% of the NHL, not just the Leafs. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

I don't know about that. I haven't seen too many teams this year that have. Every team has their game here and there, but it seems like a more regular occurence for the Leafs. You figure that 50 minutes of outplaying the opponent vs 10 minutes of getting outplayed should be able to win you a game. Maybe I just get to hear about the Leafs more, who knows... _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

I could not believe that they lost their 2-0 lead in the last 90 seconds of the game. That just blew my head off.

The two games we've lost to T.O. we deserved the W, while two of the 3 games we won T.O. deserved the win based on who outplayed who for a majority of the game.
Such things happen in a league where the 30th ranked team could beat the 3rd ranked team and it be classified as (at best) a minor upset without anyone looking twice at the scoreboard. With no one having an advantage in talent, you won't often build safe leads and the game can turn on a couple of errors.
Teams are now built to minimize errors. A team that commits more errors can be easily exploited.
Of course, how Toronto only scored twice on Carolina when they made the big error of giving John Grahame a start is beyond explaination. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Very true That Kaberle goal was a thing of beauty by Graham my Dad and I were laughing our ass off. Then my younger bro and I were laughing when we both saw Ian White try to bank a pass off of the boards, but miscalculated the angle and it went off the boards and then off of the back of the net. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!
