but how soon will he start? Auld is playing fantastic
It's a nice problem to have, maybe they can split 60-40 (instead of the usual 90-10 beat down Thomas takes) |

The papers here are awash in ink detailing the showdown of the league's two top goalies.
What a joke. Timmy is better than either of those two. Tough to get respect when we have peabrained journalists running around this town... |

Granted that TT is having a great year,But lets see his stats in 5 years before you start comparing him to Brodeur or even Luongo,I don't disagree that he is turning into one of the best young goaltenders in the league but he is still young and shouldn't be compared to these two veterans yet.
Also,I'm not trolling here Razz,I actually like seeing the Big bad Bruins being competitive again |

Thomas is 33 years old. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

I was gonna say ... and you are welcome here Tuzer, as are the other Nuckers... I just have a way of pissing you all off in your forum, so there's a self-imposed Razz ban from now on.
Timmy has been doing this for a number of years now. It's not his fault the teams in front of him have been weak. I don't think you'd argue with me when I suggest Vancouver and New Jersey both have better D than Boston, at least on paper. Yet, Thomas has better stats than either of the two goalies that played here last night...
We routinely get outshot 45-25, yet win 2-1 on the stellar play of Tim Thomas. I think what's fair to say is that there are a select few "elite" goalies, and that Thomas has earned the right to be considered a part of that group.
Just not at contract time |

Timmy still has a way to go before being compared to these 2,He hasn't even played a playoff game yet,That being said,I think he's a great goalie but he hasn't earned the right to be compared to Luongo yet,And I can't even begin to discuss Brodeurs Supremecy. |

You also mentioned how many shots per game Timmy has to face,So I looked it up.
Avg shots faced per game throughout NHL career.
Timmy-31.17
Robby-30.65
Marty-24.91
There isn't much difference between Luongo and Thomas, half a shot,But a big dropoff for Brodeur which probably explains a lot of his shutouts |

| I'm talking about current abilities. Tough to pick between those three. I'd put Thomas first, Brodeur second, Luongo third, but that's just me... |

| Dude has a .936 SVP playing in front of a D that trots out Chara and Ward as our top 2... I'm amazed that he still can't get any credit... he's one of the best goalies in the game, right up there with the "names", in fact he's outperforming them... |

Well,Lets see,Luongo has allowed only 1 goal total in his last 5 home games,Hard to believe anyone is outperforming that |

nice offensive support for Tim in his return...down 4-0 only to tie it. Ultimately they lost in the shootout but a fine effort. _________________ -UP THE IRONS! |
