Samsonov's on waivers.
End of the line? I'd think so. Sad, really. _________________ It's backwards time. |

| Very sad indeed. Not entirely sure why his play just imploded following his stint with the Oilers. Is it that he simply didn't transition well to the new NHL? You would think he'd have excelled being as small and skilled as he is. |

He really wasn't that great in 2005-06, with Boston or Edmonton. I think injuries finally got to him and he took less risks with his health as a result, becoming a perimeter player. With today's defences (clog up the middle, 5 man collapse), he's just completely ineffective. _________________ It's backwards time. |

Well, that's one theory...........
I honestly can't figure it
He was however, having a career year in Boston in 05 before Jumbo Joe was traded ... why that would make a difference, I know not
Perhaps with his contract looming, he saw the loyalty with which they handled Thornton, and lost heart
You'd think a fresh start would have rekindled it _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

With the Habs, where any frenchie off the street would get more ice time than him? As if.
For 1.8 I'd bite, but he has more than this year left, I think... |

RFA this summer; with the cap room they got from Manny, it's intriguing
But if he couldn't thrive with the new blood in Chicago, I doubt a new stint in Boston would renew him _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

| Except that he'd get a ton more icetime in Boston... could well work, I'd go for it, we desperately need scoring... |

I was thinking today, they dumped off Bochenski for a defenseman
that opens up a spot among the forwards
Sammie should at least be an upgrade over Bochenski, and Sobotka _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

Well the Bruins have certainly done dumber things.....if what you say is correct that they could acquire Samsonov for a 1.8 mil cap hit...he's worth a chance. _________________ "Don't think (Stay)

Well, I'm sure he's cleared waivers by now, so it looks like a dead issue
edit: ok, just checked it out, and I'm more confused than ever
He's been assigned to the Hawks minor league team
so he had to clear waivers twice just to be sent down once???
that doesn't make any sense _________________ I'm a Bruins fan - don't try to confuse me with the facts |

He only had to clear once (the way down) to be assigned. The second clear (supposedly the way back up) was to see if anyone wanted him at 1/2 price. Once that questioned was answered, they assigned him to their AHL team. _________________ It's backwards time. |

I am certain we can all agree that Sammy is not a 3.5 million dollar player.......and now he is not even a 1.8 million dollar player...... _________________ "Don't think (Stay)

Quite frankly, he's not a $475,000 player anymore either. _________________ It's backwards time. |

Given that the season is pretty much half over, the price tag (and cap hit?) for an acquiring team is about $900k.
Is he under contract past this year? |

I don't think its a tough sell on Bruin's fans. We are probably the only ones that want him anyway. Chiarelli........he's probably rather trade Kessel for Marcus Nilson. _________________ "Don't think (Stay)

Aaaaand the Hurricanes pick him up on re-entry. |
Friggin brilliant. Carolina is third in goals scored, and 3rd-worst in goals allowed. Clearly a small, one-dimensional forward who's game has completely disappeared is exactly what that team needs They think he's gonna replace Justin Williams? _________________ Bring back the old OTP!
