No Toews. Sad

But oh well. My two teams square off for their sometimes annual affair.

Corey Locke's NHL debut. Whoopie. On Tee-Ehs-Ehn.

Alright Koivu! Nice pass by lats to Koivu in the slot.

And what the hell is Barnaby doing in front of a camera? Ina 30 sec. blurb, he said Price (I think) has "to play" 6 times. No kiddin'.

Okay... that was fucked up. Kosto tackles a Hawk which allows streit to breakaway, is tripped and Mtl ends up with a penalty shot. It;s fitting Mtl didn't score.

Breezer (!) scores with a knucklepuck.

Great period, loads of offensive pressure at both ends.

Last weak I had a flu that provided loads of offensive pressure at both ends...

Love the speed in this game. Huet should have had the 2nd goal, but I doubt this game will suddenly become defensive.

Man, the reffing is very shitty tonight. I haven't complained too much this year about the calls, I'm used to some of the soft stuff by now, but this is pretty bad.

Good pace. Man, I love seeing quite possibly the most underrated player in the NHL play so well in the spotlight of a national broadcast in the biggest rink in the NHL. Good show, Duncan Keith.

Another young d-man who doesn't get a lot of love is having a hell of a game, too. Josh Gorges, who is in the lineup more because of Dandenault taking a personal day (death in the family) than anything else.

I'm not seeing a lot of Higgins tonight.

3-3 after 2.

Breezer reminded me why he needs to retire on the Versteeg goal. He couldn't turn around to stop his man.

Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook incite wood.

Kosto has had a good game. Ditto Kovy, who shall be named to the all-star game soon.

It continues to amaze me that even with a fun game like tonight, the TSN "analysts" can only mention negative things about Montreal i.e. their losing record at home and the "poor" play of Price.... the same group that defends Raycroft. Laughing

It's just because everyone expects perfection from the CH. Wink

Here's a typical Raycroft defense... "look, he's played for the Bruins and the Leafs. What did you expect?"

Laughing The price of being the best.

I've really got to pick up my french skills again because while the hockey is getting better (for mtl), it's annoying to not get any constructive analysis from the English media in the process. Where's the discussion on Locke? Or how about something about Markov other that "he's the only player tonight to make the All-Star game". Or Latendresse's continued evolution into a power forward. Or... ahhhh.... fuck it Smile I'll keep listening to how [latest Marlie to be called up] has the skills to make an impact in the NHL and Laughing That, and revel in 2 more Hab games on TSN in the next week.

GUI!!!!!!!!!!

Great breakout by Streit and way to lead the rush by Lapierre.

Perfect result for me. Hawks get a point but the Habs get two. Cool

Fun fun game. And without a strong performance from Huet or the tits bros.!

This team is getting some chemistry and I'm pretty close to saying yeah - Kovalev is a keeper again. That guy can be magic with the puck. Lapierre is a Kostopolous in the making - he doesn't quit. Didn't notice much from Locke other than a few faceoff wins....

This team will slump again - they're too young not to - but I'm getting more confident that they and Carbo have the experience to snap out of it.

The results may not have been there, but I thought Andrei looked good tonight. On two occasions he went to the net hard and had good scoring chances. He was strong along the boards, and he and Kovalev continued to look good together when paired.

In the first he had a chance point blank and couldn't beat Lalime.

Anyone else really impressed with Guillame? Two points, the GWG, and the best scoring chance when he nearly tucked it in in-between Lailme's legs on the break.

Streit had a good game as a swing man tonight. Maybe he'll invent a new position as a rotating forward-defenceman. If Troy Brown can play both sides of the ball.
