Really, he's not up to work at all. Nabokov has started all 41 games and only watched Patzold play from the bench for 44 minutes of relief action in the first half of the year.
I'm really rooting for an 82 game season for Nabby. He deserves it for having to split duties the past 2-3 years. Nothing against Toskala, it's just that Nabby was too good to be in a tandem. _________________ It's backwards time. |

If Johnny plays all 82 games, it will be another quick playoff exit for the Sharks. _________________ The Love Guru is a comedy like the Leafs are a hockey team. - G&M's Rick Groen

I think San Jose is second-lowest in the league in giving up shots. If they're just letting Nabby make the first stop and he isn't having to scramble and make tough saves on his body, he could realistically do it. Nabby plays an economical style of goaltending and plays the angles extremely well. The only thing I'd be worried about is his hips, because his almost completely parallel-leg stance is a little tougher on the hips than spreading the legs. I can't believe Grant Fuhr of all goalies holds the record. That guy used to get injured like crazy. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

And he did it in one of his later seasons, too. _________________
