Wings forward Dallas Drake was sent home Friday to rest for a couple of days after having his cheek rammed into the glass by Kyle McLaren Thursday. Drake will have tests on Monday to determine if the cheek bone is fractured. Wings coach Mike Babcock said he anticipates Drake being able to practice on Monday.
Mikael Samuelsson (groin) is ready to play and will replace Drake in the lineup for Saturday's game in Phoenix. Samuelsson skated on a line with Valtteri Filppula and Tomas Kopecky, as slumping Jiri Hudler was bumped down to the fourth line with Matt Ellis and Aaron Downey.
Brian Rafalski is fine and will play Saturday in Phoenix after a knee-on-knee hit by Joe Thornton late in the game. Dominik Hasek will start in goal.
