This is pretty much thought to be a done deal. Pays him $.3m more a year than Sid.

Alexander Ovechkin is going to be sticking around Washington for the long haul as he has signed the biggest contract in the history of the NHL Thursday by agreeing to a 13 year extension with the Capitals worth a whopping $124 million.
Man, I'd get fat if I had 'fuck you' money like that!

Fuck, if I'm a GM, I still might try and trade for him.
TSN Panel: Did Leonsis learn nothing from the Jagr deal?
The first $100m+ contract in NHL history. I knew it was coming, but maybe not with this deal. Wow. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. Any chance Washington can be anything more than a middling lower-tier franchise? _________________ I need a vacation, sigh

They're starting to turn thanks to Backstrom and Green. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. But what the hell can I say? Anything that doesn't mention that I masturbate over her memory is probably a good idea."

I mean in terms of popularity. Any chance this team could have do much better than 29th in attendance (that's where they rank right now).
Washington is 'Skins country, but after that it's pretty wide open. _________________ I need a vacation, sigh

Oh, then no. Leonisis is fighting a losing cause.
Baltimore would be a way better NHL city. Washington is too transient of a population. The only people that stay there and raise families are too poor to go to NHL games. _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I should speak to her. | If by Baltimore you mean Bethesda, then sure. Baltimore seemed pretty damn poor when I was there, course they were still able to sell out Camden Yards... |

When were you in Baltimore?
I wasn't really talking about income, but more about stability. Baltimore's a relatively stable city, where as DC has a fluid population that doesn't stick around much. _________________ "Oh my God. Baltimore isn't much better on that front. |

Ovechkin's mom as his agent isn't so weird. She's actually the president of the Moscow Dynamo women's bball team, so she's got some experience in the sports industry... _________________ Bring back the old OTP!
