Certainly Julien deserves credit for giving Chiarelli the luxury of either trying to dump some un-needed salary now or wait until the offseason...or I suppose not at all. I still think the B's need to divest themselves of some bad contracts (most notably Murray's) but in the meantime I certainly can't blame them for staying quiet yesterday.
Sometimes standing pat has a very positive effect. The Avs went on a tear after Giguere kept the team together last year, and the B's are already sitting on a playoff spot. |
