Ladies and gentleman, tonight... the Habs could clinch the Northeast Division with an overtime loss... provided Boston hangs on to beat Ottawa in regulation (they're up 3-0 in the 3rd, though no lead is safe vs. Ottawa lately). This would be the first divisional title for the Montréal Canadiens since 1991-92, when the Habs won the Adams Division.
It's a shame captain Saku Koivu might not be on the ice for this occasion. He blocked a shot yesterday and will sit. So will Mark Streit, who also got what we can presume is a minor injury. This means more ice time for the likes of Mikhail Grabovski and Ryan O'Byrne.
Hey, wait... aren't the Leafs supposed to be the ones auditioning younger prospects down the stretch? Well, turns out they aren't going to try and tank it... Toskala is still starting, making it 30 in a row. _________________ It's backwards time. |

Toskala?
What the hell just fire Maurice for the final handful of games....Unless the late season spurt has once again put them in a "Next year" frame of mind.
Oh and screw the Habs but they are more than welcome to win in reg tonight. _________________ psssssssssssssshhh....bing bong ping bong bing bong...pssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh. |

The ACC is as dead as the Jobing.com arena was earlier this month when Montreal visited Phoenix.
2-1 Leafs after 2 in a lifeless affair... O'Byrne got kicked out for a high elbow on a hit on Williams... Montreal's running 5 D and 12 forwards instead of 6 and 11, keeping Dandy up front. _________________ It's backwards time. |

Well, they aren't easy like the Bruins.
Sucks, but I think this game was a loser when O'Byrne got kicked out so early. This was the weakest lineup we've iced all year and then we tried to get by with 5 d-men for the whole game and play the entire first period shorthanded it seemed... on the tail end of back-to-back games. The Habs just didn't look into the game. It seems they kept waiting for something to happen and it just didn't... maybe Kostopolous should've started a fight or something...
Well, whatever. Time to leave the Leafs alone for a while. I really don't want to talk about anything involving them for quite some time. _________________ It's backwards time. |
