Indeed. I think Vancouver will be on the outside looking in after tonight.

Is Luongo playing tonight?

I don't think so Nucks still have a game in hand and after Friday in Minnesota, they end the season with 4 at home and 2 of those against Calgary.

They can still make the playoffs and god forbid even slide into the 3rd seed.

Whoa, I used to be the token pessimist around here, and I certainly think Vancouver will lose tonight (it's Colorado -- you could dress up the cast of Full House in Avalanche jerseys and the Canucks would be afraid of them), but what part of "down to the wire" would change as a result of this game? It will still go down to the wire.

One-loss-and-you're-out doesn't make any mathematical sense given the state of the division at present (and see Sask's tables to verify). Parity is parity -- the Canucks' rivals keep losing too (as well as winning) because they all keep playing each other and sports are a zero-sum endeavor. All Northwest teams "control their own destiny", meaning that nobody does.

Well...I'm not as optimistic as the rest of ya Canuckleheads about the Avs' chances. In my opinion, an analysis sure to earn me a spot at the TSN front desk, it's gonna come down to goaltending and special teams. So there.

Was the Avs goal really almost from centre ice?

Didn't see the game, but hey, good to hear Floppa played as more than a mere shell of his former self. Any time you can come back from a deficit AND chase the opposition's goalie in an inter-divisional game, there's very little to complain about.

Anyone see the Lappy/Brabarian fight? Looks like Ian for once got the upper hand in a brawl...

The game came down to Vancouvers' defensive collapse. A well deserved win for the Avs. A poorly executed game by the Van D. Nobody to blame but the back end. Who shovels the puck to a goalie that's on his back? Rolling Eyes I saw the puck sitting there and the first thing that came to my mind was shoot the puck down the ice, not shovel the puck towards our own net.

Next game vs The Wild. A must win game. They don't have a choice unless they feel like playing for a better draft pick.
