Am I the only one who's a little surprised most "experts" have been unanimously picking the Caps to walk all over the Flyers? I think the Caps are the slight favourite, but I also think this might be the tightest series of the first round.

Ovechkin v. Richards has the possibility of being a decade long grudge match. Bring back the Patrick division!

I read that Derian Hatcher and Danny Briere will actually return in this series, although probably not game 1.

I think it was Darren Pang on TSN yesterday who said the Caps home crowds are going to give the Caps a major advantage. Maybe so, but if the Flyers come back home tied 1-1, Philly fans are going to be loud and proud.

Win or lose, this series is going to exemplify everything that makes the NHL great.

Yup, this should be a good one. And you're right about Richards vs. Ovechkin. It's really too bad that Mike Richards plays for the Flyers Razz

Is Nylander expected back at any point this year?

Huet has been phenomenal for the Caps. The only unfortunate part about this is that I like Kolzig a lot and I imagine he'll be riding pine in the playoffs like he did down the stretch, barring a crazy collapse from Huet Mad

Nylander is done.

The sports media is picking the Caps because they are the darlings of the NHL right. Nevermind that the Flyers have more points, better PP and PK and play in a division where 4 out of the 5 teams are in the playoffs. Capitals have Ovechkin and two other 20+ goal scorers. Flyers have 7. It's easier to shut down a high stud winger than it is to shut down a top center in Briere (31g), Richards(28g) and Carter(29g).

So let everyone pick the Caps, they will be wrong. Wink
