Well for fucks sake we can't have tradition or fun in Gary's NHL, now can we?

The players on the Wings absolutely love Al for his barbecues and for how he takes care of the ice with input from the team, among other things. I'd hope that they and the team would help take care of Al's fines...

That's bullshit. It hasn't effected a game in all this time.

Because NHL ice is so pristine, eh? Frankly the octopus parts could be used to fill in the cracks at Madison Square Garden and Nassau Veterans.

Quote:
Last game, as you'll remember, Sobotka waited and waited for the linesmen to do his old job for him -- there's a skill to it, they discovered -- then after they brought the octopus to him, he swung it in the tunnel, and the fans roared as the JLA jumbotron showed him twirling in exile.

Laughing

Now they won't even let him touch the things:

Well now, this is getting ridiculous, isn't it?

The NHL's ban on Al Sobotka's pregame octopus swinging continues to get even more cumbersome. For Saturday's Game 2 against Colorado, standby referee Don Van Massenhoven was stationed at the zamboni entrance to handle the octopus(es) brought off the ice by the linesmen.

Fuck the head office. Can we please ban Little Gary from the Joe?
