I didn't hear about this the first time.

Umm. I'm not really sure what to make of this. Anyone hear about this before?

So it wasn't only 90% of the NHL's enforcers, but also the NHLPA itself which took the shirt off Rob Ray's back?
It sounds from this excerpt -- without delving into the article -- that Ray may be wrong. If he got a settlement, why would he be able to double-dip and get more money for the same reason just because other players were now? Moreover, if indeed he waived claims against them (depending on exactly what claims he waived), then he should live with that.
It all depends on the nature of the settlement, though. If he was required to waive any and every possible future claim for any matter, including if the NHLPA killed his family, and then he slipped on some ice at NHLPA headquarters and broke his leg... then he shouldn't have signed it, but in any event it might be deemed unenforceable for unconscionability.
