Lucic must be ok with them going after Beach... surprises me, because Beach mocked Looch and then got shitkicked by him, but whatever works. I figured they'd like Colborne as well... just cuz daddy is loaded doesnt mean the kid doesn't have a burning desire to make it on his own, and no one gets that rich without a pretty good work ethic... Plus, Colborne is way more likely to be around when it's our turn...
I actually like the idea of trading the first rounder for a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders, because outside the top 4 or 5 kids there appears to be a huge glut of comparable talent from 6-60. That's exaggerating, but it's a deep draft and mid to high round picks are more valuable than they usually are. Not surprisingly, teams seem reluctant to part with them.
Fuck, if Ottawa wants Murray do it, get a pick back and call it a day. SJ is apparently looking to move Cheechoo... let Joe have his winger back and GO GET HOSSA! |

Since Detroit dealt their second in the Stuart deal, I told Sask that I wouldn't be surprised to see Detroit do this as well, unless there's a D that they really have their eye on with the 30th pick. Or deal some of the depth that they have. 30 and 91 are pretty far apart.

Detroit has really pioneered the valuing of the puck moving defenseman. Not that this type of D man is a revelation, but they've kinda taken it to the nth degree with guys that no one else saw as prospects. Good on them.
Any idea who they might like?
I'm hoping we like Teubert, kid is a nasty piece of work, fuck if we could figure out a way to get him and Beach... let them pound the piss out of each other in practice, Looch can sit back and have a chuckle lol...
Frankly I see us trading down... they're trying to trade up, God knows why and for whom, but I say trade way down and stockpile about 4-6 picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds... PC says our scouts are practically begging him to lol...

Kronwall was a good example of that, and how the organization trusts their scouts. I think Andersson said in an interview that a few scouts went back to their GMs recommending Kronwall, but they simply brushed them off because he was like 5'11, 160 when they were scouting him.
If they trade for a couple of 2nd rounders, I could see them going after 44. Vjateslav Voinov, although a guy like Burlon or Aaron Ness at #40 could interest them because they'll both have a chance to develop longer in NCAA (Burlon is coming from St. Mikes Buzzards, which is where our top pick last year came from, and Ness is coming from US High School).
Sask thinks if they keep their first rounder they might go after Eberle because they've probably seen a lot of him while watching Logan Pyett. It's a possibilty, but Deet hasn't taken a non-defenseman in the first round since '92.

True, D.C. is a shithole, but in Kalman's defense, anyone, and I mean ANYONE I talk to who's been there or lived there, be it Canadian, American, or otherwise, the first thing that gets mentioned upon mention of the word "Ottawa," is that it's FUCKING COLD!!!  |

D.C. is awesome, you just have to know where to go. It's not the best American city, but it's definitely one of the better ones.

My first love is Boston...but I truly like D.C. I've been several times and I am still in awe of its history....I love the public transit system. The Rats are huge and booze flows well into the night.
