If there is no advantage gained by such devices, then I don't see why not.

There is. Big time. A big mistake.

The case was presented that there was not. I don't see how having those is better than having feet and calves. This isn't a pogo stick.

Sometimes I feel like a pogo stick.

I don't know enough about them to say anything. They do look kind of boingy.

That said, the Canadian paralympic basketball team has non-parapalegic players on it.

The olympics are meant to celebrate outstanding feats of the human body. If I lost my right arm and had it replaced with a cannon that shoots baseballs, chances are I wouldn't be eligible to play baseball.

I give the guy all the credit in the world for working hard, but his legs are artificial, like a robot. His spring-loaded legs can bend and torque in ways human legs can't. It doesn't matter if they determine his artificial legs do not provide a distinct advantage - the fact that he is using something artificial to allow him to run should prevent him from participating in a race aimed at finding out who the fastest man alive is.

Fair enough. I can buy that argument.

This all appears to be moot now.
