Hasn't Roenick been tooting his own horn about this for like 3 years now?
It strikes me as a dumb reason not to retire. It's not like 496 goals is "bad".

I'm debating on whether or not to listen to the speech when I get home. I hate giving this guy the attention that he craves and does whatever he can to get.

He also doesn't have a Cup. I think it's plain to see that he just didn't want to quit.
The last 2 years were tough on him because he wasn't producing and was on a loser. Now he has a good team and he's producing.
He gave Doug Wilson the puck, BTW. I'm thinking he's just happy to be given a chance again.

I also didn't realize that they now had signed Ozolinsh. Guess he had some stuff after camp to take care of and they had him in the AHL for conditioning before bringing him up.
