Can I stand up right now and say I refuse to pay increases in insurance rates for this? Why do we keep paying for people moving back? Fuck the coast....if you want to live there you bear the brunt of the premiums. Does this already happen?

Pretty much - cost of insurance is much higher on the coast lines & then FEMA (i.e., tax payers) kicks in as well as flood insurance programs.

In the end, we all pay Mad

Sad but true. Unfortunately we all insure stupidity to varying degrees-from the guy getting his shit stolen leaving the car unlocked to the moron DUI runnin from the cops. Common folk such as us all foot the bill.

Man, Galveston is already starting to flood out well ahead of the major surge to come.

I guess sheer size of Ike makes for bigger surge problems. Sounds like this has the potential to do huge amount of damage and destruction. Hopefully it's just post-Katrina paranoia and is not as bad as impressions are giving off.

I'm keepoing my fingers crossed still! (turns out that Hurricane Ike has shaped up into the biggest loss in the history of the company I work for ..... They better still give me my freakin' bonus!!!! Mad )

In the meantime; I don't think the Sox & Yankees are going to close out the season w- a double-header tomorrow either, as Hurricane Kyle should be in town by morning.
