Yep....I don't know about you folks. But i've always got to have something in the works. Would like to hear some quick blurbs about what you all are up to. Its been awhile since I've checked in on a serious note.
As you may all know or not...I bought another house. Became a true slum lord. I am trying to go to school and raise 2 kids.
I've hit a GH/Rock Band plateau and my booze drinking is getting old. But I still find new ways to piss off the front porch.
I knock down a decent salary doing things I don't necessarily enjoy. But like I said above I am going to school and trying to pursue a renewable energy degree and ride the next big wave.
What's up with you all? _________________

I'm pregnant with our second child, baby is due February 1st and the two kids will be 8 1/2 years apart! YIKES!
I am currently considering going back to school next september (2009) to finally get a degree and then maybe on to something else....not sure yet. I am getting quite determined to finally finished what i started in 1992!
Other than that we are currently redoing rooms in our house, mostly because we have 3 bedroooms and the third one is currently full of junk and has no room for baby. Our kitchen dining area is becoming my sewing area, our eight year old is excited to 'Lego' his room, and we will paint something 'babylike' for the new addition. |

Children just turned one and four this summer they are great only regret with kids is not having them sooner....still procrastinating on the vasectomy but vow to do it this fall.
Job is just ok, but only demands forty to forty-five hours a week, pays good, and gives me evenings and weekends off. Word is that in about a month I may be getting an offer on a promotion, though I tend to be a donkey so it could just be a carrot. If that turns out to be the case I likely will start aggressively looking into other options.
Took the summer off Ice other than a few times filling in for friends and look forward to getting back at it in a few weeks when I'll be playing four times a week again. I dedicated this summer to adding muscle(hence no ice hockey) as I recently lost some weight and it was a natural progression. Now I have about ten pounds to lose that I will devote Sept and Oct to and if all goes well I will have visible Abs for the first time in my life. Stupid thing but as I get in my late thirties it seems like a now or never kinda thing.
Sorry big nut shell. _________________ It's not you Sundin, it's me...please just leave...and don't look back....please please do not look back. |

Had my older brother's wedding last month which was great.
My team lead at work left to have her kid this month so increased responsibility for me.
Nothing much else, really. Haven't saved as much cash as I would have liked, and I haven't done the painting in my place that I wanted to
I'd like to start doing some school again and go for some distance ed or night courses in physics, but again there's that money thing...
Summer hockey's over and winter probably starts again end of September/early October. I still haven't gotten around to signing up on a goalie rental site. _________________ Bring back the old OTP!

Just had my 3 year anniversary with the beau, and things are feeling really good. Never kept someone around for this long before...but he's something special.
Still working on my associate degree (now with distance ed courses for added inconvenience). I am now 5 years in to a 2 year program, but completely debt-free...so that's the trade-off you make.
I've been out of my parent's house for 2 years now, and I am still waiting to feel 'grown up'. I keep expecting my mom to bust in and tell me to clean my room. Other than one minor leak issue, the apartment has worked out great! (Buying from crazy people is definitely not a route I would like to go again, although it WAS a lot cheaper than the sane-people apartments were)
Just started a job about 2 months ago in [the office of a company in] the field I've been interested in since I was 11. I don't actually do anything related to the actual 'lawyering' but support staff still counts for something, right? They don't fill their own coffee cups, that's for sure! The money's ok, the perks are pretty nice, and the people are awesome! The day just flies by, and it's suddenly time to go home. That may have something to do with the 90 min lunch breaks... Regardless, it is much less soul-crushing than the last job!
All in all, I think I might be getting there...wherever 'there' is. _________________ The Triumphant Return of Treebait!! |

My life is crazy as crazy can be!
Start with work. My co-operations manager has left his post to head a Real Estate Developement Company, therefore with no plans to re-hire a partner for me, starting today my work load is now x2! and what am i doing, im sitting on OTP writing this up! woot! on the bright side, i have the entire office to myself now, no more sharing!!
Life- Getting married next march, so wedding planning is in full swing, this weeks todo, get a dj, the one we like is 850 bux!!! but hes staying for 9 hours! unlike some of the other djs who will only stay for 6, so hmm.
My 10 year grad reunion is october, and im the lead organizer on it, well basically the only one organizing it. so thats like planning a wedding all over again, and the annoying part, my grad class was ripped off at our Grad party back in 1998 by our own class mates to the tune of 10,000 bux. So everyone is very skeptical in spending money on this event, so i basically have a budget that i show everyone to make them happy. so that in itself increase the work load
Soccer & Winter hockey season is starting next month, and i manage both teams, so my email is getting full use right now, im better organized this year though! I have lists on my wall at home! its great!
The funny part, right now i have alot of money coming and going out of my bank account that i got a phone call from the bank inquiring about what the hell is going on. At one point i had 12,000 dollars in my account and the next day it was down to 1400 that red flagged everyone!! So i had to explain everything to him in what goings on his comment
"dude, take a vacation"
so yah, my life is pretty crazy right now!! but it felt good getting this off my chest actually! |

damn you all very interesting! it might take me awhile to comment on all of this but I'll start with Canuckgirl.....don't feel bad. I just had a daughter and my son is 9 and she is now 15 months. So we've got the same separation. I will say that my how things have changed since I had my son! Its a new appreciation for parenthood especially since I am older.
Don't forget about school....and just do it....I am almost the oldest one in my French class but I crack jokes about my grey hair and the young ones seem to dig it or at least they humour my old ass. I'm a real big advocate on school. Its something the brain needs really no matter how old you are. Even if I had a degree I think I'd still be taking a class here or there. It keeps me young.
There is always so much to do with home ownership. Just when I think I've got it all figured out a wrench gets thrown in. That's one thing I don't stress too much about as I am grateful to have a roof over my head.
Keep up the outstanding work Canukgirl! You sound like one hell of a mom. _________________
