The good:
Rangers win at The Rock and deny Brodeur his 500th career victory. Marc Staal, who has been an important part of the Rangers' league-best defense, scores his first NHL goal.
The bad:
Brandon Dubinsky, a rookie making roughly $600,000, is a better center for Jagr than $10 million dollar man Scott Gomez or $7 million dollar man Chris Drury. Somewhere Slats is slapping himself in the face, while Larry Dolan is too busy trying to find where Stephon Marbury went...the smart bet is the cab of his truck with a drunken intern.
The ugly:

I always thought Drury was as good of a winger as he is a center anyways. Maybe try a Shanahan-Gomez-Drury line? _________________ "Oh my God. There she is. Lovely Sally Slater. I have always maintained that he's actually a even better winger than a center, but therein lies the rub with Drury, he's a bit of a primadonna when it comes to his position and role. He HATES playing wing, which of course he played almost exclusively those times we had a healthy Sakic and Forsberg. And he pouts even more when asked to take a lesser role. One year Yelle was hurt and Hartley tried using Drury on the third line...nope, Chris went into operation shutdown and was beyond useless. The lesson was obviously lost on Craig Button when he traded for the guy and immediately proclaimed him the first line left wing to replace Dean McAmmond.
Don't get me wrong, I still lament the loss of Drury, but there were many factors behind his departure from Colorado, not just his holdout. |
